Test was 3.031'1.00 and 4.41!0.83 m<strong>in</strong>utes <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> 20-39 and 40-60 year old<br />

groups, respectively. The nean test time for healthy subjects (3.03<br />

m<strong>in</strong>utes) which was more or less similar to <strong>the</strong> mean test time <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

current study ß.76 m<strong>in</strong>utes). The sright variation <strong>in</strong> test times<br />

observed between <strong>the</strong> sutdy by V<strong>in</strong>ton and Russell (1981) and <strong>the</strong> current<br />

study could be expla<strong>in</strong>ed by <strong>in</strong>ter-subject variability. À significant<br />

(p.0.0001) <strong>in</strong>ter-subject variability was also observed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> current<br />

study. The fact that lhe test objects (colored discs) used <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> two<br />

sludies were different could also have contributed to <strong>the</strong> difference <strong>in</strong><br />

lest times between <strong>the</strong> two studies. In <strong>the</strong> study reported by V<strong>in</strong>ton and<br />

Russell (1981), Munsell col-or discs were used, where as <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> current<br />

study ÀS0 (Àdvanced S<strong>of</strong>t Optics) discs were used. The physical characteristics<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> AS0 discs, such as reflective surfaces <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> discs and
