INTRODUCTION The heritabilíty of traits of economic importance is a fundamental source of information in the theory and practice of swine breeding programs. Phenotypic and genetic correlations among the traits are t\ro essential factors for constructing selection indexes vhen several traits are involved in the same program at the same time. In this study five reproductive traits, ten carcass measurements and age to market weight were considered ín the determÍnation of heritability estimates and in the computation of genetic and phenotypic correlatiorrs among traits in Managra pigs. The five reproductive traits rüere total number of pigs born, nurnber of pigs born a1ive, number of pÍgs weaned, average pig birth weight and average pig weaning weíght. The ten carcass Ðeasurements included: carcass length, maxímum shoulder fat thíckness, minimum mid-back fat thíckness, maximum loin fat thickness, total fat thickness, loin eye area, grade index, peïcent ham weight, ham surface area and percent predicted yield of trínrmed cuts.
