Both Session I and II and afternoon camp will be held at:

Registration Information:
• Current students: Online registration only – please use your Skyward access code to register
• All courses with fees must be paid for in full before registration will be accepted. E-funds payment option is
preferred, otherwise mail your checks to:

3309 to receive access to the online system and registration.
• Online registration begins March 20. Classes will have caps on enrollment, so please register early.
Registrations must be completed by June 15.
• Classes that have less than 8 students will be cancelled and students will be notified to select another
class.
• Skill builder/booster sessions will be held at the following sites:

Parents will be notified if their child needs to register for these classes by June 1. These classes can also
be a choice option for those parents who feel their child may benefit from the support before the new school
year begins.

Summer School Online Registration Instructions

Online Registration begins on Wednesday, March 20 th at 8:00 A.M. and ends on Saturday, June 15 th at
10:00 P.M. Register early as all classes for enrollment caps and are closed when full.
*Please Note: Online registration is for students currently in Grades 4K through 7 in the
Hartland/Lakeside School system. All other students must submit paper registration to the District
Office.
1. Log on to the Hartland/Lakeside website at www.hartlake.org and click on the Summer School tab.
2. Click on Family Access and log in using your Skyward username and password. At the top of the
page, click on the down arrow next to Student to find the student you want to register and the down
arrow next to School to find Summer School. You will need to do this for every student you want to
register.
3. Click on Courses for 2012-2013 in the left column.
4. Click the down arrow next to Select Period and add the class period (1-4) that you want to schedule.
Click the Search key. The list of classes is sorted by period. Only courses that your student can sign
up for will display (based on grade level).
5. Click the Add button in front of the course number to select the courses you would like to enroll in.
Click the remove button to remove a course from your student’s schedule. Term refers to the
session, T1 runs from June 24 th through July 12 th , T2 runs from July 15 th through August 2 nd and T3
runs from August 12 th through August 23 rd . Prd is the start time: 1 is 8:30, 2 is 9:30, 3 is 10:30 and
4 is 11:30. Clicking on the blue Next or Previous buttons at the bottom of the page, gives you more
selections. The cost of each class is listed under Subject. Seats Avail tells you how many seats are
available for the class. If the class is full, you will need to pick a different class.

6. When you have picked all the classes you want, click on the Selected Classes tab to verify your
student’s schedule.

7. If you are done, click on the Submit Classes tab at the top of the page, verify your student’s schedule
again and then click Submit Schedule. Print out a copy of your student’s schedule to bring along on
the first day. You can now register your next student.
8. The last step is paying for your classes. The preferred method of payment is Efunds. After logging
into Efunds, go to the Summer Splash tab under Schools and Add a payment. Payment can also be
made by check. Total fees for all summer school classes, for your whole family, can be paid with
one check. Send one copy of your student(s) schedules with the check made out to
Hartland/Lakeside Schools and marked summer school to the District office. Payment must be
received by May 24 th . Once we receive and verify your payments, your student(s) schedules will be
approved.

Virtual Math Explosion:
In this class you will learn virtual ways of
increasing your math skills and thinking using
the I-Pad and a variety of math
applications/games. Come explore the virtual
world of math and get your thinking cap on!

Neuroscience for Kids: Explore Your Senses:
How does the brain work? How do you use your
senses to discover the world around you? In this
class you will explore your senses and identify
their importance through interactive games,
arts/crafts, and of course, “taste-testing”! This
class will introduce very the basic concepts of
neuroscience and how your brain works.

ZooFari:
Come on a “zoofari” adventure and learn about
the world’s animals. Where do they live? What
do they eat? How do they interact with humans?
In this class you will learn about a variety of
animals from exotic animals in the jungle to pets
we keep in our homes, you will learn about their
habitats, what they eat, and how they live
through non-fiction reading, interactive games,
and art.

Come and join an adventure into using
technology! You will learn basic computer

Lego Challenge:
This class will challenge you to engineer
products with Legos using basic elements of
design, math, and engineering. You will learn
how to work in a team to create a final product
in a category that will compete with others.
Possible categories include: simple machines,
pulleys, robotics, and catapults. You will be
challenged to invent, design, and work as a
team in this class.

Pop, Fizzle, Explode!:
What cause things to explode? How do
chemicals interact? This class will examine
simple chemical reactions that are in everyday
life. You will learn the chemistry behind
fireworks, explore atoms/molecules, and
discover elements and reactions. So come
discover the world of chemistry through
investigation and experiments.

Millionaire’s Club:
How do people become millionaires? What is
the stock market and what does it have to do
with wealth? How does someone create a
budget? In this class you will learn about
money basics, investments and business to
work your way to the top. Let’s see if you can

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes
of a musical production or play? In this class
students will create the set design for Stage
Adventures class. You will be constructing,

this class, and you will learn how yoga can
increase your focus as well as your
flexibility. You will also learn about
common yoga terminology, practices, and
relaxation techniques. Students will be
encouraged to honor their bodies and
respect their various abilities.

perform a simple play in French using the

Musical Divas:
Do you aspire to be on American Idol
someday? Come use your vocal skills and
create a final talent show that you can “strut”
your stuff. The class will consist of vocal
exercises, group choral singing, reading music,
and having fun! So if you love music, this one is
for you!

Archery (Grades 3 and 4):
Come and test your skills at the archery range.
This class will teach you the basic
fundamentals of archery in a relaxed setting.

Village of Hartland Summer Afternoon Camp
North Shore Middle School
800 E. North Shore Drive (Ages 6 - 12)
Each session of camp will have a fun and educational theme with corresponding games, crafts
and field trips. Each camp session is one week long and includes a camp T-shirt (one per
summer), fieldtrip transportation and entry fees. Each child is required to bring sunscreen, a
bagged lunch, mid-afternoon snack, and plenty of water. Parents are encouraged to register
their children three weeks prior to the start of camp! Registration forms should be returned
directly to the Village of Hartland.
