Road, White Plains. Don D. Ward, Jr. has<br />

transferred to the heavy military electronics<br />

department of General Electric Go. in Syracuse<br />

as a reliability engineer in the missile<br />

detections systems section. Don's family;<br />

wife, son, and twin daughters, live at 9<br />

Apple Tree Lane, Liverpool.<br />

Peter F. Roland is keeping "busy and<br />

broke" with his family of four at Lake<br />

Placid. Rodney Miller and his wife Mary<br />

(Heisler '49) live at 10 Vista Court, Glen<br />

Falls. William P. Smith III and his wife,<br />

Polly, report from 1408 Garfield Ave., Wyomissing,<br />

Pa., that the skiing has been great.<br />

Norman L. Baker and his brother Howard<br />

Baker '50 started Hownor' Associates, Inc.<br />

in November, 1956 and the construction<br />

company is still going strong in Long Island<br />

City. Norm lives at 1245 Eastern Parkway,<br />

Brooklyn 13.<br />

At last comes some news from Robert K.<br />

"Bucky" Lewis; the one, the only, the original!<br />

Bucky and his wife live at what appears<br />

to be Box 22006, Houston, Tex. and he says<br />

he has hit two oil wells out of two attempts.<br />

That figures, and he also wrote that he has<br />

"a mint condition '37 Cord Convertible for<br />

Reunion." Captain John J. Bilon, USA,<br />

Quartermaster Group, APO 331, San Francisco,<br />

Cal., regrets that he and his family<br />

will miss Reunion but he claims that Okinawa<br />

is a little too far away.<br />

except that they plan to be at Reunion:<br />

East Rockaway; Severn Joyce, 500<br />

E. Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio;<br />

Herbert Kallman, 626 Third Avenue, New<br />

York City; and Robert N. Jacobson, 14<br />

Verne Place, Hartsdale. The list of '49ers<br />

who will return to our Terrific Tenth is<br />

growing so fast that we may have to borrow<br />

a circus tent and, with this Class, a circus<br />

tent might be appropriate. Wonder if "Mc-<br />

Carthy for President" is still painted on<br />

buildings on the Quad? Be sure to be at the<br />

Women—A welcome letter from<br />

Lee Feinberg Miller (Mrs. Joseph<br />

L.) brought all this news:<br />

"First, we have a new addition to our family,<br />

the first, Paul Edward Miller, born<br />

January 4. Second, we have just moved to<br />

our own home. We have a little more than<br />

h acre of land and swimming privileges at<br />

Peach Lake, about 1800 feet away. If there<br />

are any Classmates around, I'm easy to find;<br />

just ask in the Brewster Pharmacy and my<br />

husband will give directions." The Millers'<br />

address is RFD 1, Brewster.<br />

Some other news via Lee: Connie Berkower<br />

Moore (Mrs. Herbert) is the mother<br />

of Susan, born November 17. Susan joins<br />

a brother, 2V&. Marcie Shlansky Livingstone<br />

(Mrs. Robt.) is the mother of a new<br />

baby girl, Ellen Louise, born March 2. Ellen<br />

Louise also has an older brother, 2 ι A. Lee<br />

saw Eunice Frohman Shatzman (Mrs.<br />

Herbert) recently and they discussed the<br />

possibility of their getting back to our Tenyear<br />

Reunion in June.<br />

Mrs. F. Langdon Davis, Jr. '49 (Jeanne<br />

Powell) is president of the Augusta, Me.<br />

branch of the AAUW. The Davises live at<br />

Western Ave., MR 2, Augusta, Me. Lucille<br />

Oaklander Herbert is an instructor in the<br />

department of English at Carleton College,<br />

Northfield, Minn. Lucille received the PhD<br />

at <strong>Cornell</strong> last September; previous to that,<br />

she earned the MA at Smith College, and<br />

did further graduate work at Radclifΐe and<br />

the Universite de Renne, in France. Lila<br />

(MacLeod) and Jim Kuhn have a third<br />

girl, Christine Lila, born February 11. The<br />

Kuhns live at 103 12th St., Cresskill, NJ.<br />

Loie (Birrell) and Bill Morrill also have a<br />

third girl, Elizabeth Darcie, born last September.<br />

The Morrills have moved into their<br />

own new home at 220 Croton Drive,<br />

Waynewood, Alexandria, Va.<br />

Polly Wallworth and George Riggs, Jr.<br />

were married last October, in Gladwyne,<br />

Pa. Riggs is with Reynolds & Co. in Philadelphia.<br />

Brett Crowley Capshaw (Mrs.<br />

Terry) is the proud mother of Bradford<br />

Austin, born last October. Bradford joins an<br />

older sister, Brett. The Capshaws' address<br />

is 103 Cheney Lane, Newington, Conn.<br />

Babette Stern Isaacson (Mrs. J. E.)<br />

writes: "We are still in same location, 1321<br />

Napoleon Ave., New Orleans 15, La. J.E.<br />

has 2 years to go to complete a surgical residency<br />

at Charity Hospital here in N.O."<br />

The Isaacsons have two daughters, Robbin,<br />

4 ! /2, and Kirrf, 2. Dede Barkan Kurtz and<br />

family have moved to 75 the Serpentine,<br />

Roslyn Estates. Jean Houston Plum (Mrs.<br />

Fred) and family now live at 3809 57th<br />

Ave., NE }<br />

Seattle 5, Wash. Jean writes: "We<br />

have five bedrooms and four baths and a<br />

playroom that will accommodate a dozen<br />

sleeping bags; so any visitors to the northwest,<br />

please drop by." Fred, MD '47, is now<br />

an associate professor at <strong>University</strong> of<br />

Washington medical school.<br />

Jean Strobel Young (Mrs. Richard '49)<br />

and her husband have a sixth son, Terry<br />

Evan, born last September. Their other boys<br />

are Gary, 8!/2, Kim, 6V6, Dale, 4V6, and twins<br />

Leigh and Glenn, VΛ. Jean's husband is organization<br />

chairman of Boy Scouts for<br />

Peconic Bay Dist. He is also president of<br />

the local PTA. The Youngs live at 34 Sunrise<br />

Ave., Riverhead. See you at Reunion in<br />

Men—We received a nice note<br />

from Gerald L. Klerman, 314<br />

Lexington St., Watertown 2,<br />

Mass. Gerry and his wife, Lorraine Vogel<br />

'50, have been in the Boston area for the<br />

last two and a half years. After completing<br />

his final year at the Massachusetts Mental<br />

Health Center, where he is now chief of<br />

service, he expects to be called into the<br />

service for two years. Gerry is responsible<br />

for treatment service in two wards and some<br />

forty-five patients.<br />

Dick Savitt made headlines again although<br />

he lost in the finals of the National<br />

Indoor Tennis Championship to Alex Olmedo<br />

who just about single-handedly won<br />

back the Davis Cup from Australia the last<br />

time round. The final match went a gruelling<br />

five sets and Olmedo had a very difficult<br />

time before finally winning.<br />

Bob Pfeifer wrote about his new job in<br />

Cleveland where he is now on the marketing<br />

administrative staff of General Electric's<br />

large lamp department. Bob was promoted<br />

from the sales and sales promotion field and<br />

makes his new address at 3732 Lowell Road,<br />
