渭 水 东 流 去<br />

The waters <strong>of</strong> the Wei river flow east,<br />

何 时 到 雍 州 When will they reach Yongzhou? 10<br />

凭 添 两 行 泪<br />

I add to the waters two streams <strong>of</strong> tears,<br />

9 Weizhou was an administrative division <strong>of</strong> China whose seat <strong>of</strong> government was at Xiangwu 襄 武 , southwest <strong>of</strong> today's<br />

Longxi county 陇 西 县 , Gansu province. The Wei river 渭 水 starts at Niaoshu mountain 鸟 鼠 山 Weiyuan county 渭 源 县 ,<br />

Gansu province, flows through Longxi, Gangu 甘 谷 县 , and Tianshui 天 水 县 counties and then passes through Shaanxi<br />

before eventually meeting up with the Yellow river 黄 河 . The Qin waters (qinchuan 秦 川 ) refers to the area around<br />
