Unf<strong>or</strong>tunately, that make,;<br />
the film difficult <strong>to</strong> hke J<br />
many layers of hist<strong>or</strong>y need <strong>to</strong><br />
be peeled away m <strong>or</strong>der <strong>to</strong> see<br />
the heart of the film<br />
"F<strong>or</strong>rest Gump" follows the<br />
title character (played admlra.<br />
bly by Tom Hanks who will as.<br />
suredly earn another Best Ac.<br />
t<strong>or</strong> Oscar nommatlOn) from<br />
birth through 1982 Most of the<br />
film is narrated by Gump while<br />
he sits awaitmg a bus<br />
The <strong>to</strong>ne IS set early and<br />
quite vlVldly Mrs. Gump (Sally<br />
Field) runs a boardmg house<br />
and finds young F<strong>or</strong>rest m the<br />
room of one of her guests. The<br />
guest wants F<strong>or</strong>rest <strong>to</strong> contmue<br />
hiS hip.swmgIng whIle he plays<br />
,his guitar Sh<strong>or</strong>tly thereafter<br />
the infamous ElVIS appears on<br />
the screen doing the same<br />

scene is so absurd it makes<br />
everything else easIer <strong>to</strong> take<br />
