follow.up exammation. But<br />

back m 1985, when she was 2-<br />

112,Sarah was dIagnosed WIth<br />

acute lymphocytIC leukemm<br />

(ALL), the most common f<strong>or</strong>m<br />

of cancer She, and her parents<br />

Jane and Bill Fox, spent several<br />

weeks in an apartment<br />

near the 48-bed research hospital<br />

while Sarah endured tests<br />

and early treatment f<strong>or</strong> the<br />

deadly disease<br />

"I remember it," she says,<br />

St. Jude IS able <strong>to</strong> use the<br />

newest methods f<strong>or</strong> treatmg<br />

cancers. Subsequently proven<br />

pro<strong>to</strong>cols may be adapted by<br />

other hospItals around the<br />

country.<br />

"St. Jude was founded by act<strong>or</strong><br />

says Kathy McGrath, the Madison<br />
