<strong>the</strong> peoples <strong>of</strong> Earth would not go out to slaughter one ano<strong>the</strong>r. They would work with<strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>mselves, <strong>the</strong>ir own groups, <strong>the</strong>ir own nations, to achieve good and happ<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> that<br />

section <strong>of</strong> your world where<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>y were born and <strong>the</strong>refore call “home.” 248<br />

Thus aga<strong>in</strong>, as Harmonial tradition would have it, mov<strong>in</strong>g toward heaven on earth was<br />

primarily a question <strong>of</strong> re-alignment. If enough people could open <strong>the</strong>mselves to <strong>the</strong> cosmos and<br />

beg<strong>in</strong> to live <strong>in</strong> harmony with <strong>the</strong> div<strong>in</strong>e plan, <strong>the</strong>n Utopia could be achieved.<br />

And no man lives who has never once dreamed <strong>of</strong> what you call Utopia, or <strong>the</strong> nearly<br />

perfect world. There is noth<strong>in</strong>g which man has ever imag<strong>in</strong>ed which is not, somewhere, a<br />

reality. And, <strong>the</strong>refore, noth<strong>in</strong>g that is not possible <strong>of</strong> achievement. For you too, on<br />

Earth, this is possible. For us on <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r planets <strong>of</strong> our galaxy, it is now so. 249<br />

Thus we see two <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> primary modalities <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> displaced utopian imag<strong>in</strong>ary fulfilled, <strong>the</strong><br />

pr<strong>of</strong>fered vision <strong>of</strong> a Utopian achieved and <strong>the</strong> promise that it could be achieved here on earth.<br />

But how are humans to know <strong>the</strong> div<strong>in</strong>e plan? How are <strong>the</strong>y to move toward that state <strong>of</strong><br />

harmony? Here<strong>in</strong> lay <strong>the</strong> last modality <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> displaced utopian imag<strong>in</strong>ary, <strong>the</strong> promise <strong>of</strong> help<br />

from afar. The bro<strong>the</strong>rs have been observ<strong>in</strong>g us for some time. They did so, aside from <strong>the</strong><br />

observations <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>trepid aliens who lived among us, through an electronic device “no larger than<br />

an ord<strong>in</strong>ary cab<strong>in</strong>et radio, with a screen similar to a TV set. ‘With this,’ [Firkon] expla<strong>in</strong>ed, ‘we<br />

can picture anyth<strong>in</strong>g tak<strong>in</strong>g place on Earth, or on any planet over which we ei<strong>the</strong>r pass or hover.<br />

Not only do we hear spoken words, but pictures are picked up and shown <strong>in</strong> screen.” 250<br />

Here<br />

we had moved beyond <strong>the</strong> spiritual telegraph, mental radio and <strong>the</strong> light and sound ray to a<br />

version <strong>of</strong> satellite surveillance. With <strong>the</strong> comb<strong>in</strong>ed data <strong>of</strong> direct and remote surveillance, <strong>the</strong><br />

space bro<strong>the</strong>rs claimed to “have a history <strong>of</strong> Earth and <strong>the</strong> happen<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>the</strong>reon dat<strong>in</strong>g back<br />

seventy-eight million years.” 251<br />

This long-term, pervasive surveillance might have <strong>in</strong>duced<br />
