Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences of the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 20100764) Applications are invited for appointments as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (2 posts) in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences of the Faculty of Education, tenable from September 2011 and initially on a three-year fixed-term basis. All positions offer the possibility of renewal and appointees will be considered for tenure after satisfactory completion of a second three-year fixed-term contract. The Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences has been pioneering research and teaching on communication disorders in Hong Kong and in the region. Further information about the Faculty can be obtained at http://www.hku.hk/education/. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree specializing in communication disorders or a related field. The applicant should have: (1) demonstrated research excellence; (2) teaching experience in a university; and (3) knowledge of Cantonese and a recognized speech therapy clinical qualification would be advantageous but not essential. Annual salaries will be in the following ranges (subject to review from time to time at the entire discretion of the University): Associate Professor : HK$636,420 – 984,180 Assistant Professor : HK$484,980 – 749,520 (approximately US$1 = HK$7.8) The level of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical/dental benefits.
