Page- 12 of 13 TERMS AND CONDITION FOR HIRING OF TRUCK FOR SE(P.WAY) FOR OFFICIAL USE: 1. The rate includes all Major / Minor repairs, servicing of vehicles, cost of lubricants and all other consumables required from time to time, Driver’s salary and allowances. All terms, duties, incidental charges, penalties etc. as imposed Central / State / Local Govtt. bodies for running of vehicles, statutory recoveries on account of sales tax and Income tax as applicable shall also be made from running account bills. 2. The vehicles should be in exceptionally good condition, preferably of 1997 make or onward and shall comply all standard norms of pollution control. 3. All Vehicles are hired for normal duty of 12 hours per day on an average and the timings shall be decided by the vehicle user. 4. Supplier shall be solely responsible for safe running of the vehicle. Railway will not be responsible for any loss, damage or accident. 5. If the vehicle is out of order an alternate vehicle shall be provided by the contractor failing which a penalty as decided by competent authority will be imposed. 6. The driver of the vehicle must be dressed in white uniform and must be a name tag on his chest pocket. 7. The vehicle must have a valid registration, road tax paid to Government, Insurance and Driver’s valid license. 8. Behaviour of the Driver should be satisfactory and must follow the traffic rules and he should have clean back ground and police record. 9. The contract will be valid for a period of 12 months. However, the Railway reserves the right to extend it further by 12 months at its discretion. 10. Payment will be made once in a month on the basis of Log Book maintained by the Driver and certified by the Railway Official / user. 11. In case of any accident, total responsibility lies with vehicle owner and Driver. Railway will not have any responsibility. 12. The owner of the vehicle and Driver will be fully responsible in case unauthorized materials are found in the vehicle. 13. 3 months notices shall be given by Railway in case of withdrawing the vehicle from service if required. 14. No accommodation will be provided by the Railway to the driver. He has to make his own arrangement for boarding, lodging and fooding. 15. Driver of vehicle shall maintain a log book indicating of following particulars therein. a) Date (b) Time ( c ) From and To (d) Km. (e) Signature of Railway Official (f) Signature of Driver (g) Remarks. 16. Description of the vehicle i.e. (a) make (b) Registration Number ( c ) Year of manufacture (d) Driver’s name (s) and License Number should be submitted along with the offer.
