again this year, with its new products, at the Equitana exhibition in
Essen. On an even greater floor area, the company, from Gersthofen
near Augsburg, is showing its popular horse trailers with countless
innovative details in Hall 3, on stand D38. The Humbaur brand represents
over 25 years of accumulated competence in trailer design and
manufacture. Our products combine progressive design with the
exacting high standards of a traditional family business. Over
500,000 trailers have now left our works, bearing witness to the
popularity of Humbaur trailers with customers throughout Europe.

Presence at the trade fair
Numerous innovative and versatile detailed solutions from the Humbaur
horse-box world will raise riders' pulse rates at Equitana 2011.
From Humbaur's extensive horse-box portfolio, there is something
for almost everyone: Three quality trailers from the all-poly range,
five models from the popular wood-poly class and three models from
the smart alu-poly class; they will all be there when the world's largest
horse trade fair opens its doors and waiting on the modern designed
Humbaur stand for all lovers of horse-riding.
For The Love of Detail
Horses now travel in even greater comfort – that is assured by the
innovative refinements demonstrated by every Humbaur horse trailer
shown at Equitana.
Greater comfort on the journey is provided by the padded and
shaped breast bars in resilient polyurethane foam that are fitted as
standard and, in the event of emergency braking, provide the horse
with the safety of a cushioning effect and thus providing a surer
footing in the trailer. The side padding to left and right guarantees a
comfortable journey, especially on winding roads, allowing the horse
to lean against the side walls in comfort. Humbaur has even given

thought to the bolts that fasten the side wall. The screws are recessed
in the padding and any danger of injury to the horse is excluded.
In addition, the side padding is particularly stable and durable.
If, however, it does need replacement, this is very quick and
easy.
From the safety point of view, Humbaur is far out in front - in an
emergency situation, the right key is hardly ever immediately to hand
to open the panic interlock. Humbaur has thought of this, and now
supplies not only the panic interlock as standard equipment, but also
provides the matching square key with all horse box trailers. In emergency
situations, the panic interlock on the breast bars can thus be
released quickly and easily.
A further extra safety feature is the mechanical locking of the welded
central partition wall. The floor locking point makes for safe loading
of the second horse since the partition can be locked in position,
even with the tailgate open. The new head partition is now an optional
fitting on all models that are suitable for the transport of two
horses. This head partition - in aluminium and steel - provides extra
separation in the front part of the trailer for particularly nervous and
skittish horses. With handles at front and back, the front partition is
easily moved.
Furthermore, the Humbaur CHAMP-FAHRWERK (chassis) makes for a
comfortable and optimum ride for both owner and horse. The Humbaur
CHAMP-FAHRWERK (chassis), with its hot-dip galvanised longitudinal
beam chassis, offers maximum stability and thus maximum
safety. The tensile and compressive forces and pressures are fed directly
to the suspension and, together with a low centre of gravity,
this makes for a smooth ride for both rider and horse. The Humbaur
CHAMP-FAHRWERK (chassis) is thus particularly suitable for extreme,
off-road stresses. Particular comfort factors are the low loading
height and the low ramp gradient for ease of entry. All Humbaur
horse trailers feature the proven CHAMP-FAHRWERK (chassis).
As a further plus point, Humbaur offers as standard, in all full-poly
models, a generous saddle compartment with a practical saddle

holder that can be pulled out, swung and latched in position. A new
refinement from Humbaur is that not only the saddle compartment
door but also the front entrance door to the horse trailer are now
fitted with sturdy three-point locking. This technique makes for the
highest level of mechanical stability and the smart, chrome-look door
handle rounds off the overall design of the trailer. The saddle compartment
can, of course, be locked.
New Design
The business and its products have an image which is young and
dynamic without sacrificing functionality or safety.
In terms of the branding strategy, the business groups all its different
products under the Humbaur umbrella. In addition to the wellknown
horse emblem, which, with its yellow and black colours, in
the form of a self-adhesive, embossed shield, decorates both side
walls of every Humbaur horse trailer, there is now, for Equitana
2011, a special edition in exhibition look, which stands out on the
white MAXIMUS on the Humbaur stand.
And another new feature: the wooden horse-box trailers are now
available with smart black side walls. The proven Humbaur WIND-
SCHOTT (deflector) provides draught-free ventilation and continuous
airflow through a fine-pored mesh that permits an exchange of air
but deflects rainwater. The popular WINDSCHOTT (deflector) has
recently become available in black and now fits in perfectly with
Humbaur's colour schemes. In addition, the WINDSCHOTT (deflector)
is equipped with an Easy-Roll system for quick and quiet rolling when
opening – the horses will not be frightened by the roller blind snapping
upwards. A further advantage of the WINDSCHOTT (deflector) is
the interior brightness afforded by the fine-pored mesh. All Humbaur
horse trailers are fitted with our exclusive WINDSCHOTT (deflector) as
standard. The only exceptions are the models MAXIMUS, PEGASUS
and SPIRIT. The look is rounded off with the stylish Humbaur multifunctional
rear lights.

finish; in Hall 10/11, on Stand C34, there is a Humbaur Rapid - a
cooperative project with the agricultural press magazines "Pferdemarkt"
[Horse market] and "Reiter und Pferde in Westfalen" [Riders
and Horses in Westphalia].
On Saturday 19 March 2011, the Humbaur exhibition stand will be
promoting the up-coming generation: 40 young horse-lovers will be
meeting here at 15:00 for the theory test of the PM Schulpferdecups
[training horse cup]. This is jointly organised by the Personal Members
of the Deutschen Reiterlichen Vereinigung [German Riders' Union]
and the specialist magazine Reiter Revue International [Rider
Review International]. The test itself will be carried out in standard
groups: the candidates will go into the Humbaur horse-box trailers
on the exhibition stand to take their tests. Also present will be ten
riding instructors who will conduct the test.
