1 ST INTAKE ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION SCIENCE
Sixteen students are currently pursuing the Advanced Diploma in,Information Science at the
Brunei Polytechnic since July 2012. They are Azuddin Abas, Dk Serimohyatun Pg Hj Metussin, Dk
Yura Nurul Wafi Pg Yura Mohd Abai, Han Leong Sou, Joanna Sia, Lee Kuan Eng, Mohd Khairul
Syazwan Othman, Noraniazirah Abdul Aziz, Nurminah Alias, Norsinawati Gumpol, Siti Nadirah
Jamaluddin, Siti Nur Khalilah Dolrani, Sukartine Ahmad Hassin, Syazwani Bakir, Zaimah Hj Tamit,
Zulfadli Mesa.
AL-FATIHAH
It is with the deepest sympathy and condolences that BLA learnt of the untimely demise of Dr.
Soekarman Kartosedono formerly of the National Library of Indonesia. He passed away on 9 Feb
2013 at .21.30 at his residence in Jakarta. He would have been 79 this 4 June 2013. After his
retirement he continued to be active and was recently appointed as Advisor of Indonesian Library
Association, and Secretary of the Prime Book Foundation. He was a distinguished figure, and a
long-time and a good colleague of many Bruneian librarians who had known and worked with him on
many ASEAN COCI library projects especially on the promotion of reading habits.
