Offshore Salt<br />
Transhipment Terminal<br />
The joint venture CCQ (Constremac/<br />
Carioca/Queiroz Galvão) is concluding<br />
the expansion of the Terminal<br />
comprising the storage area and the<br />
barge-unloading wharf. The terminal<br />
is located 14 km offshore Areia<br />
Branca – Brazil. CODERN – Cia.<br />
Docas do Estado do Rio Grande<br />
do Norte is a state owned company<br />
which runs the Salt Terminal operation<br />
since 1975. The expansion of<br />
the storage area has been design<br />
using steel sheet piles cells and the<br />
barge’s wharf using a steel deck<br />
on pile structure and steel jackets.<br />
The construction activities were performed<br />
in open sea where the height<br />
of significant wave reaches 5.90 m.<br />
EXE Engenharia, Curitiba, Brazil,<br />
has developed the detailed design<br />
and the construction methodology.<br />
