It will be seen from this return that the aggregate sum colleoted was but $3,'31,<br />
this was doubtless owing to the small number of United States' fishing vessels, in the<br />
Gulf during the season, and of this number many would have taken out licenses, had<br />
they been able to obtain fares of fish.
