Report of the Officer in Charge of the Fraser River Hatchery for 1883.<br />

I have the honor to submit my fifth annual report for this hatchery together<br />

with a statement of the distribution of fry and collection of ova during 1888.<br />

From the quantity of salmon eggs laid in the hatchery during the fall of 1887,<br />

the following number of semi-hatched ova and fry of the salmon (Chouicha) and<br />

(Nerka) were distributed in the several rivers and lakes of Vancouver's Island and<br />

the mainland as follows<br />
