of Washington an asylum for the insane
of the District of Columbia and of the army and
navy
Support, clothing, and medical treatment of the
insane of the District of Columbia and of the
army and navy at the asylum
Heating and ventilating the entire unfinished re-
mainder of the insane hospital edifice, etc . . . . . .
For books and incidental expenses of the asylum.
Furnishing the present hospital continuation, comprising
the centre snd three sections of the wing
For erecting, furnishing, lighting, and heating a
lodge for colored women, corresponding to that
already erected and occupied by colored men .
For salaries and incidental expenses vf the Columbia
Institute for the deaf, dumb, snd blind. .
Maintenance and tuition of deaf, dumb, or blind
pupils of the District of Columbia at the Columbia
Institute
Support and medical treatment of forty transient
paupers, medical and. surgical patients in the
Washington Infirmary .
Support of the penitentiary in the District of Columbia
Compensation of the warden, clerk, physician, chaplain,
etc. , of the penitentiary, District of Columbia.
Compensation of three inspectors of the peniten-
tiary, District of Columbia. . . . . .
Compensation of four draw-keepers and a watchman,
and for fuel and oil for the lamps of the
Potomac bridge .
For taking down and rebuilding the southern span
of the bridge across the Potomac, known as the
" Long Bridge".
Repairs of the Potomac, navy yard, and upper
bridges, 6&, c
Compensation of two draw-keepers, and for fue land
oil for the lamps of the two bridges across the
eastern branch of the Potomac
To repay thc corporation of Georgetown, District
of Columbia, all moneys heretofore advanced by
said corporation towards the construction of the
bridge over the Potomac at "Little Falls". . . .
Compensation of the public gardener, Washington,
District of Columbia .
Laborers employed on the public grounds and President's
