<strong>AUTOPREP</strong> ® <strong>SPOT</strong> <strong>PRIMER</strong><br />

DESCRIPTION:<br />

Autoprep Spot Primer is a one-<strong>com</strong>ponent aerosol primer-surfacer design for spot<br />

priming of sand through and small areas. Autoprep Spot Primer provides good build<br />

while offering easy sanding and good enamel holdout for small areas.<br />

SUITABLE SURFACES :<br />

Autoprep Spot Primer:<br />

—Existing finishes, degreased and sanded with #P220 to #P320 grit paper dry.<br />

—Any sand through areas over premium polyester bodyfiller sanded with #P180 to<br />

#P220 grit dry.<br />

—Steel, small areas degreased and sanded with #P80 then #P120 grit dry.<br />

—Autoprep Etching Pen, let flash for 15-20 minutes then apply Autoprep Spot Primer.<br />

NOTE:<br />

Although Autoprep Spot Primer will provide adequate adhesion and protection if<br />

applied directly over bare steel or aluminum, for maximum adhesion and corrosion<br />

protection, we re<strong>com</strong>mend first applying one coat of etching primer by use of the<br />

Autoprep Etching Pen. Allow 15 - 20 minutes before the application of Autoprep Spot<br />

Primer.<br />

None. Product is ready to use (Shake aerosol can thoroughly before each use).<br />

Hold aerosol can approximately 5 to 7 inches from panel. Depress nozzle and apply<br />

an even coat. Allow 2-5 minutes flash-off between coats.<br />

After Application:<br />

Invert aerosol can and momentarily depress nozzle (2-3 seconds). This allows aerosol<br />

propellant to clean nozzle.<br />

RECOATABILITY: Autoprep Spot Primer can be topcoated with all Sikkens topcoats. Autoprep Spot<br />

Primer can be sealed, after sanding, with any Sikkens wet-on-wet product. Please see<br />

the TDS relative to the product chosen.<br />

Do not handle until the Material Safety Data Sheets have been read and understood.<br />

Regulations require that all employees be trained on Material Safety Data Sheets for all<br />

chemicals with which they <strong>com</strong>e in contact. The manufacturer re<strong>com</strong>mends the use of<br />

an air-supplied respirator when exposed to vapors or spray mist.<br />

Aerosol Cans:<br />

Keep containers tightly closed. Isolate from heat, sparks and open flame. Closed<br />

containers may explode when exposed to extreme heat. Contents under pressure. Do<br />

not use or store near sources of heat, sparks or open flame. Keep away from any<br />

source of heat such as sunlight, heaters or stoves that could cause the container to<br />

burst. Do not puncture or incinerate. Do not crush or place in a garbage <strong>com</strong>pactor.<br />

Do not store above 120 degrees Fahrenheit/49 degrees Celsius. Aerosol containers<br />

may explode when exposed to extreme heat.
