7.2.3 Example of order no. 3<br />

Customer wants to use Gerapid as a field discharge breaker to commutate current<br />

from excitation system of synchronous machine to the discharge resistor circuit.<br />

Customer has previously tested one Gerapid breaker in a special test sequence using<br />

special ratings and internal standard “XXX 123”. Customer requests to put on the<br />

nameplate rated parameters that have been tested. After agreement with <strong>GE</strong> both<br />

parties decided to create special version of the breaker and assign to it a letter “a” as<br />

extension of standard name. These breakers will be a retrofit units replacing old<br />

Gearapid SE type.<br />

1 Load current of 3200 A;<br />

2 Operating voltage of 2750 V;<br />

3 High power, low stability, source 220 V AC available for closing solenoid;<br />

4 Terminals suitable to install SEL current measurement system.<br />

5 Plus pole connected to the TOP terminal;<br />

6 With SEL measurement system;<br />

7 Without OC release;<br />

8 Low power, high stability, 24 V DC source available for control supply;<br />

9 With maximum possible number of auxiliary contacts.<br />

10 Without OC trip target;<br />

11 Zero voltage release;<br />

12 With ED impulse release supply directly from external C-bank;<br />

13 Without forced tripping release;<br />

14 With contacts’ position indicator;<br />

15 With side insulation panels;<br />

16 With hand lever;<br />

17 Without arc chute indicator;<br />

18 Counter not available;<br />

19 Special retrofit connectors for Gearapid SE breakers;<br />

20 According to IEC 60947-2 standard.<br />

21 User Manual must be in Polish.<br />

Correct catalogue code shall be: 2 a 5 R 5 1 2 0 1 4 0 6 1 0 1 1 1 0 0 3 4<br />

General remarks:<br />

Customer’s special solution with non-typical ratings. Additional letter “a” will be<br />

assign to this configuration exclusively. Later customer can use this letter to call<br />

the same configuration.<br />

It is possible to supply closing drive and controls from two separate source of<br />

power.<br />
