ABOUT BAOBAB
Directed by Kathy Armstrong,
Baobab Tree has been offering
public classes, performances and
events celebrating West African
music since 1995. The organization
infuses its work with cultural
connections to the village of
Dagbamete in Ghana. For ten years
it has raised money and awareness
for education and health concerns in
that region. Many of Baobab Tree's
members have visited Ghana over
the years and the youth group is
planning to return in the summer of
2006. In addition to sheer musical
fun, drumming and dancing is a
great way to relieve stress, improve
mental flexibility and build
community.
