Pumps and agitators play a decisive part in the further
processing of the manure which has been gathered.
The use of the most suitable machines on your farm
depends on the viscosity of well agitated manure,
which you can establish yourself in the following
quick test.
1. Ensure that the manure in the pit is well agitated and homogenised.
2. Place a 60 cm disc onto a bucket.
3. Shake sufficient manure onto the disc until it is fully covered.
4. After waiting for 1 minute measure the thickness of the manure in the middle
of the disc.
5. The value obtained determines, in conjunction with the form of the bedding
and the general planning conditions, the basis for the selection of your pump.
