“The Seed” is Istanbul’s newest event venue. It is located on
the European side of the Bosphorus, and its modern structure
and architecture make it an ideal venue for hosting meetings,
conferences, seminars or artistic and cultural events at both
the national and international levels.
The terraces and gardens at the Seed have a breathtaking
view of one of the city’s most outstanding backdrops.

THE THEATRE OF HISTORY
Istanbul is the only city in the world to be situated
on two continents, along the banks of the
Bosphorus in Europe and Asia. In the course of its
3,500 year history, Istanbul was the capital of the
Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires for 1,500
years.
The city is the cultural, artistic and spiritual heart
of Turkey. It is an enchantingly attractive city, and
is also home to the country’s main universities.
Istanbul is a real treasure trove, with delights
such as the St-Sophia and St-Irene churches,
the Dolmabahçe Palace or the Maiden’s Tower…
without forgetting the archaeological museums
and typical atmosphere of the “bazaars”.
Istanbul is not just a city of history, though. This
cultural exception has become a vibrant, modern
metropolis, resolutely focused on the future, and

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, with
12 million inhabitants. Its strategic position
has made it a hub for exchanges since Antiquity.
As well as being the economic, financial and
industrial motor, and the largest import-export
centre in Turkey, it is also the country’s largest
trading port.
The financial districts of Levent and Maslak
are home to the headquarters of all of Turkey’s
largest companies, including banks, insurance
companies and all the main media companies.
Industrial sectors such as food, textiles,
chemistry, cosmetics and pharmaceutics,
as well as glass, cars and much more, are,
along with tourism, the largest employers
in the city.
Istanbul has been chosen as the European
Capital of Culture for 2010, and the city
is gradually confirming its status as a key
destination for business tourism.
