3.8 Journey to work<br />
Suburbs in Time shows that private car is the dominant mode <strong>of</strong> transport for Corio and<br />
Norlane residents travelling to work. This modes accounts for 66% <strong>of</strong> workers travelling<br />
to work, which is equal to the proportion <strong>of</strong> private car use across <strong>Greater</strong> Geelong.<br />
Only 2.8% <strong>of</strong> people in Corio Norlane walk to work as a single mode <strong>of</strong> transport which<br />
is marginally less than <strong>Greater</strong> Geelong at 3.5%.<br />

3.9 Car Ownership<br />
In 2006 almost 15% <strong>of</strong> occupied private dwellings in Corio and Norlane did not have a<br />
vehicle which is almost 5% higher than the number <strong>of</strong> occupied private dwellings across<br />
<strong>Greater</strong> Geelong without a vehicle (9.8%).<br />
