Phlebotomy – venipuncture and collection of blood and blood culture samples for pathology<br />

Safe management of blood and blood product infusions.<br />

Managing patients with chest drains and UWSD<br />

Naso-gastric tube insertion and care of patient – includes PEG feeds<br />

Health promotion<br />

Simple Wound dressings / sterile technique<br />

Triage of Emergency presentations & first line emergency management<br />

Peripheral IV cannulation.<br />

Preceptorship<br />

Advanced Life Support incl. semi-automatic defibrillation & airway management<br />

Cardiac Monitors and telemetry – patient set up and monitoring of<br />

Management of Epidural catheters and pain in labour (midwives only)<br />

Management of implantable venous access devices i.e. Hickman’s/PICC lines<br />

Safe management of cytotoxic materials and waste<br />
