Taizé: Instrumental,
Volume 2
Like its predecessor, Taizé: Instrumental 2 is
a recording of guitar and flute accompaniments
designed to support communities
and groups who have the desire to pray in
song. Unlike the original Taizé:
Instrumental that mirrors the songs found
on Laudate Omnes Gentes, this collection
of 19 songs is a sampling of your favorite Taizé melodies from 11 of their
most popular recordings. As with the first, Instrumental 2 comes with easy
to sing refrains printed in six different languages. Solo and duet flutes play
melodies and simple descants while the guitar accompanies throughout.
Again, a helpful resource for small prayer groups or listening enjoyment!
Taizé: Instrumental
This recording by the Taizé Community offers all
the songs found on Laudate Omnes Gentes, but
in instrumental versions only. Taizé: Instrumental
was created to support small groups who wish to
pray in song, but are uncomfortable singing a
cappella or do not have the resources for live
instrumental accompaniment. Ideal for small
prayer groups! CD/CS-586
Venite Exultemus
From the Taizé Community comes another
stunning new recording! Venite Exultemus
features many of the never-before-recorded
chants that have become popular in Taizé over
the past few years, including “The Kingdom of
God,” “Venite, exultemus Domino,” and several
wonderful chants in Spanish. Many different
languages are represented on this recording as well as two songs from the
eastern Christian tradition, “Alleluia, Slava tiebie Boże” and “Bogoroditse
Dievo.” CD/CS-529
Joy on Earth
Joy on Earth is a recording of prayerful works,
employing only English and Latin, and intended for
persons in English-speaking countries. In the Taizé
tradition, this recording reproduces the
atmosphere of prayer in the Taizé Community.
Sing to God
New
In the Spirit of Taizé
In the Spirit of Taizé is an American recording
of the music of Taizé. It was recorded live
at Ascension Church in Oak Park, Illinois,
under the direction of David Anderson.
Since October of 1992, on the first Friday of
each month, Ascension Church has welcomed
Christians from many traditions to
pray in the spirit of the Taizé Community.
Praying in word, song, and silence, the gathering
has grown from an initial group of 30 people to over 800 people each
month. This magnificent recording truly captures the spirit of Taizé! CD-612
Laudate Omnes Gentes
Uniting beauty and simplicity, Laudate Omnes
Gentes comes from the heart of the Taizé
Community as it brings together well-known
songs by Jacques Berthier and more recent songs
composed by brothers of the Community.
Listeners will be enchanted by the gloriously
delicate choral sound, recorded at the twelfthcentury
village church at Taizé. CD/CS-575
Bendecid al Señor!
This is the first CD to be recorded in Taizé
specifically for the Spanish-speaking public. Nearly
all of the songs and solos are in one or other of the
dialects of Spain. A much-needed addition to the
range of recordings available from the beloved
Taizé Community in France. CD/CS-498
Taizé: Ubi Caritas
On this recording, music written for the Taizé
Community by Joseph Gelineau is combined with
the music of Jacques Berthier. Various solos in
Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish,
Spanish, with Latin refrains. CD/CS-399
Veni Sancte Spiritus
8
While most Taizé recordings use many languages,
reflecting the international nature of the
Community, this one includes all verses and many
refrains sung entirely in English! CD/CS-380
Unless otherwise noted, CD—$16.95 / cassette—$10.95
Continuing the tradition of music that is prayerful
and accessible to all people regardless of
language, this recording from Taizé contains
numerous songs never before recorded. Solo
verses in 18 languages. CD/CS-325
