CD/CS-372 A Mass of Life Paul Gibson This versatile mass, intended for both Ordinary Time and major feast days, is recorded in its entirety with full choir, organ, and trumpet in a celebration of the Feast of Pentecost. CD/CS-289 First brought to our attention by American visitors to St. Gervais in Paris and then by another friend of GIA at St. John of Malta Church in Aix-en-Provence, the compositions from Abbaye de Sylvanès inspired glowing reports of beautiful and simple music indelibly wedded to the liturgy. This music was conceived and composed by André Gouzes, OP. Borrowing from the unaccompanied four-part singing style of the Eastern rite churches, this music is a premier example of true ritual music. A Time of Grace and A Sunday Vigil/The Rangueil Mass were recorded at the Abbey of Sylvanès by the Choir of Kings College, London.
