In this final report we tried to expose the hall activity of our chapter from this
last year of existence.
Our activity in the last year have been full of enthusiasm and energy:
-July 19-28 – <strong>2004</strong> - The Summer School “The Danube River-Danube Delta-
Black Sea System genesis, development and environmental state” organized by
Geoecomar. Some of the professors have been Corneliu Dinu, Nicolae Panin, Viorel
Ungureanu, Gheorghe Oaie.
-August 14-28 <strong>2004</strong> It was a fieldtrip in Northern Carpathian, with a
international participation: german and romanian students. It was a good opportunity
to meet and speak with other students in <strong>geo</strong>logy.

- October 23-24 – <strong>2004</strong> – A fieldtrip in Bucegi Mountains at 2500 m. We
tried to analyze the macrostructures of the Bucegi lime-conglomerate of a cretaceous
age, so that we can understand the tectonic mechanism that created those mountains.

- October 25-27 – <strong>2004</strong> A fieldtrip in Northern Carpathian, in Valea Seaca. It is
an Oligocene conglomerate and sandstone important for gas resource. The professor
engaged in this action has been assistant Relu Roban.
- Starting with 15 th October <strong>2004</strong>, we have initiated the four departments of
our faculty to present their professors and projects available for students. This way,
we broke some communication barriers specific to our faculty and helped our younger
students to be closer to the professors. On November 11 – <strong>2004</strong>, during the
presentation of the Mineralogy Department, one of our members, Iacob Cezar, was
awarded by Emil Constantinescu, the ex-president of Romania and also a professor of
our faculty, with the price “Mineralogia <strong>2004</strong>”, for his activity.

- April 8-11 – <strong>2005</strong> – In collaboration with the Department of Geology and
Paleontology and the Department of Mineralogy, we went on a four days fieldtrip in
Central and Northern Dobrogea. This fieldtrip was made in didactic interest. Some of
the professors were Marin Seclaman, Nicolae Anastasiu and Eugen Gradinaru.
- April 16-19 – <strong>2005</strong> – After a few months of work, 26 BSC members
participated to The Symposium of Romanian Student Geologists, organized this year
by the Iasi Student Chapter of AAPG.

- April 8-10 – <strong>2005</strong> - Symposium – Semi-enclosed european seas-interactions
between major compartments. Our participant students were 4 th or 5 th year, because
the others were in Dobrogea fieldtrip.
- June 26-July 5 – <strong>2005</strong> – Fieldtrip in Leaota Mountains for <strong>geo</strong>logical
mapping of the area. The coordinator professor was Lect. Denisa Jianu, the advisor of
the Mineralogy Student Association of our faculty.

This year of activity we had a minimum of two meetings per month, excepting
the activities presented above. We believe we had a great year and we are waiting with
excitement the year to come.
After the june 15 – <strong>2005</strong> meeting of BSC, after consulting the members of our
chapter, the executive committee decided their successors for the <strong>2005</strong> – 2006 year of
activity. The chosen committee has the following configuration:
