Punjab University Press 1967, 1986 writes in detail about Darbari Kavis, <strong>Dasam</strong> Granth<br />

Di Khas Hajuri tay Daskhati Bir (also known as Ananadpuri Bir) <strong>and</strong> sodhak committee<br />

3) Read also the <strong>Textual</strong> analysis <strong>of</strong> this Bir By Dr Piara singh Padam in his book<br />

“<strong>Dasam</strong> Granth Darshan”. Padam ji does not write about the history <strong>of</strong> this Bir <strong>and</strong> its<br />

movement which is well written by Dr.balbir Singh <strong>and</strong> S.mahan Singh intheir Report.<br />

Contains two paintings <strong>of</strong> 10th guru in possession <strong>of</strong> Matasundri pasted on page 1 <strong>and</strong> 14<br />

( Padam Ji gave no history <strong>of</strong> these Photographs although he made these photograph the<br />

basis for his 1990 Edition as is mentioned on page10 <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dasam</strong> Granth Darpan. But<br />

no history <strong>of</strong> such photographs tracing them to Guru period is given.).<br />

• Four different kinds <strong>of</strong> pages, no folio numbers on Khas Patras<br />

• Five different scribes, Darbari Singh, Darbari Singh Chhota, Nihala, Bala <strong>and</strong><br />

Haridas. First 63 pages are new with different h<strong>and</strong> writing (Piara singh Padam)<br />

<strong>and</strong> different from main manuscript. Zafarnama written in other h<strong>and</strong> with no<br />

numbers on pages.( Piara Singh Padam)<br />

• <strong>History</strong> <strong>of</strong> this Bir only goes up to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Period times as taken<br />

from a Granthi Diwan singh employed by him.<br />

• At two places dates <strong>of</strong> 1752 BK (1695 CE) come in wrong chronological order<br />

(Ch<strong>and</strong>i Ukat Bilas on page 125 written in Fagun 1752 but Jodh Parb<strong>and</strong> written<br />

on page 154 on Chet 1752). On folio 109, 116 dates - 1745BK <strong>and</strong> then 1744BK<br />

also wrong chronology<br />

• Probably this Bir is the same as the presidium Bir used by Sodhak Committee in<br />

1897 with two pictures, scribe, described as Darbari Singh Wadha, <strong>and</strong> Darbari<br />

Singh Chhota. Ankpali rewritten at some pages, some <strong>of</strong> the pages new. Total<br />

pages 403.<br />

• There is no colophon in this Bir.<br />

• Sodhak Committee,s opinion (1895-1896AD) on An<strong>and</strong>puri Birh on Text <strong>and</strong> <strong>History</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Ananadpuri Birh a. Japu Ji Sahib <strong>and</strong> Akal Ustit is different. Ch<strong>and</strong>i di Var is new.c. In<br />

krishan avtar many chaupees are missing. d.In Charirtars <strong>and</strong> Hakiats the Tukas <strong>and</strong> Baints<br />
