and nine persons from seven organizations attended.
2. Marine science education programs
() Science Camp
The Science Camp was held by national or independent
administrative experiment and research institutions,
and five corporations under the Ministry of
Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
JAMSTEC accepted high school students from all
parts of Japan for the three-day camp during the summer
vacation (from August to , ) at Yokosuka
Headquarters. (Fig. )
() Marine Science School programs
The Marine Science School programs have been
conducted every year since with the financial
assistance of the Nippon Foundation. Twenty teachers
attended theteachers' course from August to , .
A total of students attended the students' course;
