AUTOCRYL ® RALLY BLACK
DESCRIPTION:
Autocryl Rally Black is a low gloss black topcoat for use whenever a black eggshell
finish is required. Rally Black's low gloss finish makes it an ideal choice for use as a
non-glare finish.

repairs. Temperature ranges from 55ºF - 85ºF (15ºC - 28ºC)
―Autocryl Elast-O-Actif: Additive to increase flexibility of Autocryl Rally Black, for use on
flexible parts.
—Autocryl Rally Black: hydroxyl acrylic resins
—Sikkens Standard Hardener and XP Hardener: polyisocyanate resin
—Autocryl Hardeners: polyisocyanate resin

Mix: 100 parts by volume of Autocryl Rally Black with
50 parts by volume of Sikkens Standard Hardener
30 parts by volume of Sikkens Standard, Production or Rapid Activator
For easy and accurate mixing, use Sikkens Measuring Stick #1 (Black).

33 parts by volume of Sikkens XP Hardener
50 parts by volume of Sikkens Standard, Production or Rapid Activator

Using Autocryl Hardener or Autocryl Hardener rapid with Sikkens Standard,
Production or Rapid Activator, Autocryl Rally Black should be mixed as follows:
3 parts by volume of Autocryl Rally Black, with
1 part by volume of Autocryl Hardener
1 part by volume of Sikkens Activator
10% additional Standard Activator may be added for smoother application.
For easy and accurate mixing, use the Sikkens Measuring Stick #9 (Grey).
Autocryl Rally Black can be directly applied on top of the following surfaces:
—All existing finishes degreased and sanded with #P500 to #P600 grit paper dry or
#P600 to #P800 grit wet.
—All Sikkens preparatory products.
—All products that are to be sanded, initial sanding may be required but final sanding
with #P500 to #P600 grit paper dry or #P600 to #P800 grit wet is recommended.
—Wet-on-wet products, please follow recommendation for product in use by
consulting the relevant Technical Data Sheet.
The proper spraying viscosity is achieved by using the recommended mixing ratio.
17–18 sec ZAHN cup #2 (16–17 sec DIN cup #4) at 70°F (20°C).
When mixed with Autocryl Hardener Rapid: 45 minutes at 70°F (20°C).
When mixed with Sikkens Standard Hardener / XP Hardener and Production
Activator: 2 hours at 70°F (20°C).

APPLICATION
METHOD:
Apply 2 single coats or 1 single and one double coat. Flash off in between coats until
the film is touch dry before applying the next coat (5–10 minutes).
DRYING TIME:
Autocryl Rally Black may be air dried or forced dried in a baking booth. The chart
below shows the variations of dry times.

Do not handle until the Material Safety Data Sheets have been read and
understood. Regulations require that all employees be trained on the Material
Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals with which they come in contact. The
manufacturer recommends the use of protective equipment when mixing and
spraying this material. Protect skin with gloves and spray suits, wear safety glasses
or goggles when mixing, and wear full hood fresh air fed respirator while spraying.
