the 2012 London Olympics, becoming the third
former Hofstra student-athlete to compete in the
Olympic Games.

State Warriors during
his rookie campaign.

22. The softball team missed the University’s commencement ceremony due to
competing at (and winning) the NCAA Regional in Los Angeles, CA.
Shante Evans averaged 6.8
points and 7.8 rebounds per
game in four contests at the
2011 Pan American Games in
Guadalajara, Mexico.
John Antoniades and his Pride teammates wore
specially designed green uniforms on St. Patrick’s
Day. The uniforms were donated by Warrior Lacrosse.
Courtney Breen (soccer and basketball)
and Genna Kovar (field hockey and
lacrosse) were the only two-sport athletes
at Hofstra in 2011-12.
Men’s Basketball Coach Mo Cassara addresses the media
at Hofstra’s first-ever on-campus Media Day. The event
was attended by more than 50 members of the media and
was held in the Mack Sports Complex.

A Yakima Bears in the Arizona
Diamondbacks farm system in 2012.
Hofstra alumnus and former lacrosse
player Jon Cooper ’89 led the Norfolk
Admirals of the American Hockey
League to the 2012 Calder Cup
Championship and was named the
2012 AHL Coach of the Year.
