Art provokes conversation. The idea of silent conversations derives from a genre of paintings called a sacra conversazione developed during the Italian Renaissance where characters within the work would seem as if they were talking with each other. This exhibition explores the dialog between two or more objects that communicate tension between forms through touching, placement of materials, or relationship with negative space. An entry must consist of at least two pieces that interact with each other and be made from metals, fiber, clay, wood, or glass.
