Community Livability<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Manager, Communications (TMC)<br />

Goal: CL-TMC-1 Strengthen public perception <strong>of</strong> <strong>Gilbert</strong> as best place to live, work and play.<br />

Outcome: Public will acknowledge that we <strong>of</strong>fer a high quality <strong>of</strong> life for a good value and<br />

engage supportively.<br />

Actions: Establish a communication plan with principles, approaches and most effective media.<br />

Seek opportunities for recognition <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong>‟s outstanding achievements and quality <strong>of</strong> life.<br />

Improve website and social media outreach. Keep media current & help focus their attention.<br />

Measure: Media tracking conducted and reported identifying areas <strong>of</strong> notable impact.<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Manager, Intergovernmental Relations (TMIR)<br />

Goal: CL-TMIR-1 Develop an interdependent working relationship with members <strong>of</strong> <strong>Gilbert</strong>‟s<br />

Legislative Delegation in an effort to increase the <strong>Town</strong>‟s effectiveness at the Legislature.<br />

Outcome: <strong>Gilbert</strong> in a position to work more effectively with legislative representatives.<br />

Action: Active communication with members via face time, telephone, e-mail, etc, to promote<br />

<strong>Gilbert</strong>‟s message. Encourage members to contact <strong>Gilbert</strong> when issues <strong>of</strong> interest arise.<br />

Measure: Vote count will be a key indicator and the response from members to e-mails and<br />

phone calls will be an early indicator.<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Manager (TM)<br />

Goal: CL-TM-1 Encourage all departments to recognize their role in and include attention to<br />

Community Livability in their directions and actions.<br />

Outcome: Residents appreciate evidence <strong>of</strong> across the board attention by all employees to<br />

livability. Workforce understands their role and their response is identifiable.<br />

Action: Identify priority areas for attention and visible results. Focus effort on highest<br />

priorities while maintaining attention to the core value. Seek relationships to share in the<br />

“vision” and participate in the shaping <strong>of</strong> Community Livability.<br />

Measure: Effectiveness measured by survey results and comments received.<br />
