- a scene from an anonymous film. Black and white, from<br />
the thirties, forties or fifties. The scene is a caperish<br />
moment of chase, or slapstick...<br />
... which is being watched, with delight, by KATHY, TOMMY,<br />
RUTH, ARTHUR, LAURA, and all other students in their year.<br />
As the moment of slapstick resolves, the kids all shout:<br />
STUDENTS<br />
Again, again!<br />
The scene is rewound, and begins again.<br />

22 INT. CORRIDOR - DAY<br />

We follow MISS GERALDINE down a corridor.<br />
MISS GERALDINE is carrying a large stack of papers -<br />
drawings and paintings by the students from the artroom.<br />
23 INT. OUTSIDE BILLIARD ROOM - CONTINUOUS<br />
23<br />
MISS GERALDINE carries the artworks into the billiard room,<br />
where we glimpse MISS EMILY and two other GUARDIANS.<br />
One of the GUARDIANS closes the door behind MISS<br />
GERALDINE...<br />
... on KATHY and RUTH, who are in the corridor outside.<br />
24 INT. HAILSHAM - CONTINUOUS<br />

We now follow KATHY and RUTH, as they run through the<br />
school.<br />
25 INT. HAILSHAM/BACK DOOR - CONTINUOUS<br />

As they run out the back door, they hold out their wrists<br />
to swipe their metal bracelets against a featureless metal<br />
box, attached to the wall.<br />
The metal box gives an electronic bleep in acknowledgment.<br />
26 EXT. HAILSHAM - CONTINUOUS<br />

KATHY and RUTH continue running, heading around the side of<br />
the building...
