The transfer admission guarantee assures general admission to Georgia College & State University, but not necessarily admission to a specific major, for the term listed above. Admission to some programs, such as Nursing, Education, Mass Communications, Kinesiology, and Athletic Training, have additional admissions requirements. Students are not guaranteed admission to these programs. Terms of the guarantee: 1. Apply for admission to Georgia College & State University during the application filing period for the semester in which you wish to transfer. 2. Complete the required courses in English composition (two courses) and mathematics (one course) listed below with C grades or better at least two semesters before planning to transfer. 3. Complete an associate degree at GPC including 60 Georgia College & State University transferable units and all courses in the required course pattern listed below with C grades or better by the end of the semester preceding transfer. 4. Complete the last 30 of your 60 or more Georgia College & State University transferable units at GPC. 5. Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 in all Georgia College & State University transferable course work by the end of the current semester and maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher in all courses taken prior to transfer. Please note that some programs at Georgia College & State University may have higher minimum GPA requirements than that of the general university. Required Course Pattern: Completion of the core curriculum is required. You must earn a grade of C or better in each course: Area A: English 1101 and English 1102 and one math course from the following: Math 1101 (Math Modeling), Math 1111 (College Algebra), Math 1113 (Precalculus) or Math 2431 (Calculus I). Math-based majors are required to take Math 1113 or Math 2431. Area B: Comm 1201 and 1 to 3 hrs from the following: Atec 1201, Rsch 1203, Surb 1105, or Foreign Language 1002 or higher. Area C: An English literature course and one humanities elective (Arts 1301 or Arts 1690 or Arts 1692 or Arts 1694 or Film 1010 or Humn 1301 or Humn 1303 or Humn 1305 or Musc 1301 or Musc 1303 or Phil 1301 or Phil 2120 or Phil 2641 or Reli 1301 or Thea 1301 or Foreign Language 1002 or higher).
