Small footprint, motorized solution, capable of producing high quality weld images.
imagination at work

x|pipe BT provides a complete solution using GE’s DXR250RT digital detector array and Isovolt Titan E
x-ray generator tube imaging chain, integrated with a protection cabinet and manipulation for inline
inspection of butt welded boiler tubes. This solution also features a sophisticated data management
system through GE’s Rhythm software handling data acquisition, image review and interpretation as
well as reporting, long-term archive and retrieval.
Key Features and Benefits
• Patent-pending swivel cabinet design to account for
+/- 45 degree imaging requirements
• Optimized imaging chain: DXR250RT, Isovolt Titan
E generator and tube options to optimize image
quality, throughput and cost
• Pneumatically-operated IQI holder allowing for IQI
placement and viewing in each inspection image
• Complete turnkey system with minimized footprint,
forklift mobility and easy installation
• Platform solution with single cabinet design for
225kV and 320kV versions, facilitating upgrade path
This is not a completely closed system as there are openings for pipe entry and exit. A significant amount of scattered radiation always travels to
certain distance along the length of the tubes. Safety fence must surround the system to ensure that the radiation level outside the fence is within
the regulatory acceptance level (ie < 1µSv/hr). The leakage radiation at the fence level is less than 1 µSv/hr.
