Chapter I: Description of simul<strong>at</strong>ion software, applicable for solar<br />

cooling<br />

In this chapter a brief description of some simul<strong>at</strong>ion tools applicable in solar cooling is given.<br />

These tools are the most commonly used by <strong>IEA</strong> Task 38 participants. The range goes from<br />

predefined simple configur<strong>at</strong>ion software to low level equ<strong>at</strong>ion solver. Some of the tools are<br />

developed by research groups <strong>and</strong> are dedic<strong>at</strong>ed for internal use <strong>and</strong> other are commercially<br />

available software. The simul<strong>at</strong>ion tools highlighted here are SPARK, EnergyPlus, EES,<br />

EasyCool, TRNSYS <strong>and</strong> INSEL.<br />
