2.2.6 Maintenance<br />

Table 2 shows a summary of the maintenance items mentioned by the plant owners. No<br />

similarity between the mentioned maintenance actions was visible by comparing the<br />

answers. Only some of the plant owners had enough inform<strong>at</strong>ion about necessary<br />

maintenance actions. In half of the evalu<strong>at</strong>ed cases, hardly any maintenance items were<br />

listed. This situ<strong>at</strong>ion gives the impression th<strong>at</strong> in most cases the plant owners lack<br />

inform<strong>at</strong>ion about necessary maintenance actions to be undertaken. These recordings<br />

expose possible reasons for a non s<strong>at</strong>isfactory energy performance of the plants.<br />

2.2.7 Costs<br />

The specific investment costs, given by the plant owners, are in a very big range (see Figure<br />

13). Compared to presently achievable average investment costs from<br />

1.500 - 2.800 €/kW cooling capacity for medium to large size solar cooling plants between<br />
