It can be concluded the chiller works properly from about 12:30 to 19:00. The driving<br />

temper<strong>at</strong>ure <strong>at</strong> the gener<strong>at</strong>or is more or less always between 60°C <strong>and</strong> 70°C, while the cold<br />

is produced <strong>at</strong> about 20°C.<br />

The chart below shows the flowr<strong>at</strong>es into the different loops of the install<strong>at</strong>ion:<br />

The solar pump is starting <strong>at</strong> about 9:00 <strong>and</strong> as said before the pumps for the other loops<br />

(gener<strong>at</strong>or, evapor<strong>at</strong>or, <strong>and</strong> condenser) are starting <strong>at</strong> about 12:30.<br />

The Gener<strong>at</strong>or <strong>and</strong> evapor<strong>at</strong>or flowr<strong>at</strong>es are pretty stable, but it’s not the case for the<br />

condenser <strong>and</strong> for the solar pumps. Indeed, the solar pump works in short cycle <strong>at</strong> the<br />

beginning <strong>and</strong> <strong>at</strong> the end of the day, <strong>and</strong> when the chiller is starting running. And the<br />

condenser pump works in short cycle a few hours after the chiller started running <strong>and</strong> until<br />

the end of the day.<br />

6 Experiences / Lessons Learned<br />

As said before, no main problems were identified during the monitoring period. On the other<br />

h<strong>and</strong> a few problems happened after this period.<br />

• The monitoring was not possible to do because of the insolvency of the chiller<br />

manufacturer, <strong>and</strong> because the monitoring devices were part of the chiller. But now<br />

this problem is solved, <strong>and</strong> the monitoring still can be done via a VPN.<br />

• Because the install<strong>at</strong>ion stopped for a long period, the solar collectors which used a<br />

he<strong>at</strong> exchanger were cycling so now the performance of the collector field are lower<br />

than wh<strong>at</strong> it should be <strong>and</strong> wh<strong>at</strong> it was when the install<strong>at</strong>ion started.<br />

7 Conclusions<br />

The install<strong>at</strong>ion was able to run <strong>and</strong> have good performances for the entire monitoring<br />

period. Then the monitoring was not possible for some external reasons, <strong>and</strong> a few problems<br />

started. Now the install<strong>at</strong>ion is being renov<strong>at</strong>ed, <strong>and</strong> will start running soon.
