• The amount of force or pressure required to
sustain complete compression of both jugular
veins varies tremendously from one victim to
the next, so that a discussion of foot-pounds
of force or joules of required energy is not
relevant.
• A large muscled athletic person is, of course,
more difficult to strangle than a weak,
impaired, frail elder.
