Hypertension (High Blood Pressure, White Coat Syndro<strong>me</strong>):<br />
• No more than 2 <strong>me</strong>dications.<br />
• There must have been no change in treat<strong>me</strong>nt within the last 6 months.<br />
• Must have been a non-smoker for at least 12 months.<br />
Hypotension (Low Blood Pressure):<br />
• Must NOT be associated with any underlying condition.<br />
Osteoporosis (Osteopaenia, Fragile Bones):<br />
• There must have been NO broken bones within the last 5 years.<br />
• There must have been NO vertebral (backbone) fractures.<br />
Important limitations<br />
Cancellation, curtail<strong>me</strong>nt & trip interruption cover<br />
This policy will NOT cover any claims under Section 6 (Cancellation, Curtail<strong>me</strong>nt or Trip Interruption)<br />
arising directly or indirectly from any pre-existing <strong>me</strong>dical condition known to you prior to the<br />
com<strong>me</strong>nce<strong>me</strong>nt of the period of insurance affecting any close relative or travelling companion whether<br />
insured under this policy or not, or person with whom you intend to stay whilst on your trip if:<br />
• A terminal diagnosis had been received prior to the com<strong>me</strong>nce<strong>me</strong>nt of the period of insurance; or<br />
• If they were on a waiting-list for, or had knowledge of the need for, surgery, inpatient treat<strong>me</strong>nt or<br />
investigation at any hospital or clinic at the com<strong>me</strong>nce<strong>me</strong>nt of the period of insurance; or if during the 90<br />
days im<strong>me</strong>diately prior to the com<strong>me</strong>nce<strong>me</strong>nt of the period of insurance they had:<br />
• Required surgery, inpatient treat<strong>me</strong>nt or hospital consultations; or<br />
• Required any form of treat<strong>me</strong>nt or prescribed <strong>me</strong>dication.<br />

You can use this service outside the United Kingdom during your journey. If you have a <strong>me</strong>dical<br />
e<strong>me</strong>rgency please contact ERV Assistance as soon as possible.<br />
ERV Assistance doctors and nurses and other technical support staff are on call 24 hours a day<br />
throughout the year. You may reverse the call charges when using this service. Please give ERV Assistance<br />
your age and your certificate number. The service is available if <strong>me</strong>dically necessary and when you have a<br />
valid certificate. It includes a guarantee to pay hospital or doctors’ fees;<br />
• a translation service;<br />
• repatriation arrange<strong>me</strong>nts to send you ho<strong>me</strong> by land, sea or air (accompanied by a nurse or doctor<br />
if necessary);<br />
• necessary travel arrange<strong>me</strong>nts for your next-of-kin or the person with whom you are travelling (if<br />
covered under this policy); and<br />
• an ambulance service to a hospital or nursing ho<strong>me</strong> or your ho<strong>me</strong> when you arrive in the United<br />
Kingdom (if necessary).<br />
Outpatient treat<strong>me</strong>nt<br />
For simple out-patient costs you should settle the clinic bill directly and claim this back upon your return.<br />
