Einführung<br />

InFusion <strong>PLS80E</strong> System<br />

<strong>Lifecycle</strong> Product Phase Listing<br />

Dieses Dokument stellt eine Auflistung der Hauptkomponenten von InFusion <strong>PLS80E</strong> zur Verfügung,<br />

und zeigt deren Status innerhalb Ihres <strong>Lifecycle</strong>. Die InFusion <strong>PLS80E</strong> <strong>Lifecycle</strong> Support Policy<br />

beinhaltet fünf definierte Supportphasen – Preferred, Available, Mature, LifeTime and Obsolete<br />

Phases.<br />

Bei Produkten in der Preferred Phase handelt es sich um die aktuelle, bevorzugte Standard<br />

Hardware des jeweiligen Funktions- bzw. Produktbereichs. Produkte dieser Kategorie werden aktiv<br />

beworben, produziert, weiterentwickelt und verkauft.<br />

Produkte in der Available Phase repräsentieren verfügbare Standard Produkte die weiterhin<br />

produziert und verkauft werden, die aber für neue Installationen nicht mehr aktiv angeboten werden.<br />

Typischerweise werden diese Produkte für Erweiterungen verkauft. Befindet sich ein Produkt in dieser<br />

Phase, kann das gleichzeitig als früher Hinweis darauf gesehen werden, dass dieses Produkt<br />

mittelfristig aus dem Verkaufsprogramm genommen<br />

wird.<br />

Die Mature Phase beginnt wenn ein Produkt aus dem Verkaufsprogramm genommen wurde. Wenn<br />

ein Produkt aus dem Programm genommen wird, werden wir sicherstellen das es ein umfassendes,<br />

klar definiertes Support Programm gibt, um weiterhin die volle Funktion der Systeme unserer Kunden<br />

zu gewährleisten. Wie lange sich ein Standard Produkt in der Mature Phase befindet ist variable. Die<br />

Dauer ist abhängig vom Typ des Produktes und ist direkt abhängig vom Grad der möglichen<br />

Prozessunterbrechung – je schwieriger sich ein Austausch gestaltet umso länger der Verbleib in<br />

dieser Phase.<br />

● E/A Produkte umfassen den größten Anteil installierter Komponenten und ihr Austausch macht die<br />

meisten Probleme, da der Austausch oft nur bei abgeschaltetem Prozess möglich ist. Aus diesem<br />

Grund dauert ihre Mature Phase <strong>10</strong> Jahre.<br />

● Computer- und Kommunikationsmodule unterliegen einem kürzeren Produktzyklus da sie<br />

signifikante Verbesserungen und Erweiterungen bereitstellen können. Sie auszutauschen kann<br />

aber ebenfalls zu großen Problemen bei unseren Kunden führen, da auch hier meist der Prozess<br />

abgestellt werden muss.<br />

Die Dauer der Mature Phase beträgt in der Regel fünf Jahre.<br />

● Rechner Hardware (Workstations, Bedienstationen, RTS, LWS) ändert sich relativ schnell. Neue<br />

Hardware bringt auch mehr Leistung. Produkte aus dieser Kategorie haben eine dreijährige Mature<br />

Phase.<br />

Die LifeTime Phase beginnt mit dem Ende der fest definierten Mature Phase. Der Support für diese<br />

Produkte wird so lange aufrechterhalten wie wir erfolgreiche Reparatur oder einen Austausch anbieten<br />

können. Trotzdem wird es einen Punkt geben, an dem wir ein geliefertes Produkt nicht mehr<br />

reparieren oder ersetzen können. Wenn dieser Zeitpunkt gekommen ist, werden wir eine Mitteilung an<br />

unsere registrierten Kunden verschicken, die das entsprechende Produkt als potentiell veraltet<br />

kennzeichnet.<br />

Produkte befinden sich in der Obsolete Phase wenn sie auch mit größter Anstrengung unsererseits<br />

nicht mehr zu reparieren oder zu ersetzen sind. Wir sind bemüht, mindestens ein Jahr im Voraus eine<br />

entsprechende Notiz zu dem betreffenden Produkt herauszugeben, in dem wir die Erwartung bekannt<br />

geben dieses Produkt innerhalb der nächsten Monate weder ersetzen noch reparieren zu können.<br />

► Zur Aufrüstung auf neue aktuelle Komponenten sind keine Änderung des Engineerings der<br />

Funktionen notwendig.<br />

Introduction<br />

InFusion <strong>PLS80E</strong> System<br />

<strong>Lifecycle</strong> Product Phase Listing<br />

This document provides a listing of the major InFusion <strong>PLS80E</strong> products and where they are in their<br />

lifecycles. The InFusion <strong>PLS80E</strong> <strong>Lifecycle</strong> Support Policy includes five defined support phases –<br />

Preferred, Available, Mature, LifeTime and Obsolete Phases.<br />

Products in the Preferred Phase are Standard Hardware (and Software) that are the most recent<br />

products available in their functional area. Products in this category are actively being promoted,<br />

enhanced, produced and sold.<br />

Products in the Available Phase represent Standard Products that are available for sale and are<br />

being produced, but are no longer the Preferred Product offering. Typically, these products are sold for<br />

expansions, not for new installations. This designation also serves as early notice that the product will<br />

be withdrawn from sale.<br />

The Mature Phase begins when the product is withdrawn from sale. Even though the product is<br />

withdrawn, we are committed to ensure that a comprehensive, clearly defined support program is<br />

firmly in place. The length of time that a Standard Product remains in the Mature Phase varies, based<br />

on product type, and is directly related to the degree of disruption to our Customers’ processes – the<br />

more difficult it is to remove, the longer the duration.<br />

● I/O products, are the single largest installed component and the most disruptive to take off-line,<br />

therefore they are supported in the Mature Phase for ten years.<br />

● Controls and Network Communications products change regularly and provide significant<br />

enhancements, but can be difficult for our Customers to take these processors off-line, therefore,<br />

they are supported in the Mature Phase for five years.<br />

● Workstations change relatively quickly and new hardware provides many benefits. Products in<br />

this category will be in the Mature Phase for 3 years. Software packages are supported in the<br />

Mature Phase for two years.<br />

LifeTime Phase begins at the end of the predefined Mature Phase and products will be supported on<br />

a best efforts basis for as long as we can provide a quality repair or replacement. However, at some<br />

point, we may no longer be able to repair or replace a given product. At that time a Customer<br />

Notification is pushed pro-actively to our registered users identifying the product as potentially<br />

Obsolete.<br />

Obsolete Phase Products are typically identified when, after our best effort to support, maintain,<br />

repair and/or offer MEP exchanges, we find that we can no longer provide certain products. Every<br />

effort is made to provide at least one year’s notice before it is anticipated that there will no longer be a<br />

supply of replacement or repairable modules.<br />

► For Upgrading to state-of-the-art Modules there is no change on the function-engineering<br />

necessary.<br />
