7.18 Policy 6.1.3 – (Integrated Management) states:
Promote integrated management between marine farm operators, relevant
network utility operators and all agencies with marine farming responsibilities.

This policy addresses the need for integrated management. The applicant is already a
part of the existing industry on the Coromandel area and will immediately integrate the
operations of this application for an extension into their existing activities. This ensures
maximum efficiency in use of people and facilities within the industry. The applicant is
aware of the requirements for Maritime NZ approvals; the health and Safety approvals;
and the “MFish” requirements for the undue adverse effects assessment and Fish serve
registrations. This application will therefore fit comfortably into the current processes the
industry has already established, including with relevant agencies, to ensure integrated
management.
7.19 In addition, Rule 16.5.5A sets out a range of standards and terms. It is considered that
this application and the way it would be implemented would meet all the standards and
terms.
Information requirements of the plan
7.20 Appendix 1 and 1A of the RCP sets out a list of information that may be required when
applying for a coastal permit. The relevant matters have been covered in this application
in the above sections and as detailed in the following paragraphs.
7.21 The General information requirements have been addressed throughout this document
and further in the attached scientific report. It is submitted that any cumulative adverse
effects of the proposed activity would be less than minor.
7.22 The matters specific to Marine Farming have been addressed throughout this AEE. It is
submitted that the effects of marine farming from the one hectare extension are
anticipated by the plan and will be less than minor.
7.23 It is considered that all the relevant information requirements set out in Appendix I and
1A of the plan have been satisfied.
8. Consent Conditions
8.1 The term of the consent being sought is for approximately 13 years – to enable the term
of the extension area which is the subject of this application, to be made concurrent with
the term of the existing marine farm (which expires on 1 January 2025).
9. Notification
9.1 The applicant requests that the application be processed as a non-notified application.
The plan is silent in terms of notification and the application is for a discretionary activity.
9.3 The Council must publicly notify an application if the effects will be or are likely to be
more than minor, a rule in a National Environmental Standard (‘NES’) requires it to be
