BINGO! There’s Bingo every Wed & Sat at 6:30pm
**********************************************************************
We’re now Online
This is our second month ONLINE!
Add this site to your list of ‘Favorites’ and you’ll be able to read
your newsletter online every month:
http://4218.foe.com
Going ‘paperless’ will be a big savings to our Club.
PLEASE REMEMBER……
If there are any Eagles who don’t have internet access, we are
making newsletters available in paper form. We’ll have them on the
table near the members’ door. If you know of anyone who doesn’t
come to the Club on a regular basis and needs to have a newsletter
mailed to them, have them call Andy Demers (802-893-2120) if they
are an Aerie, or call Carol Howrigan (802-878-3090) if they are an
Auxiliary.

My Brothers,
It’s hard to believe that another month has gone by already! This has been a
real Vermont winter. We haven’t seen snow and cold like this in many years. I
hope everybody is staying warm and not getting too sunburned.
We are running into a real serious problem at the Aerie this year. The club is
booking functions into the year 2012 already. We have been trying to get
volunteers from the old and new members all year and we are not having any
response. We would like to have more going on at the club for members but
it’s impossible without help. If anybody has any time at all please contact me
at the club or leave a message with the bartender.
We are planning a St. Paddies Day fun fest with games of chance and Corned
Beef, cabbage, with all the fixings. The club will open at 10:00 am and the fun
will start soon after. We will have our annual pool tournament for all the pool
players out there. All the details will be posted at the club so stop by and see
what’s happening.
We have a small committee formed for the State Convention which is taking
place at our Aerie in June. Please stop by if you have any time to help out. We
have 550 members and out of all these members we have 20 members who
come out and help one time after another. The good things that we do are not
going to happen without the support of the members. Please come out and
help. It will help everybody get out of the winter blues.
Fraternally yours,
Worthy President
Harley Sterling

Dear Sisters,
We’ve had a very busy month of February. Our Super Bowl was a lot of fun and a good fund
raiser. Cheryl Papazoni did a wonderful job of organizing this and she wants to thank all that
worked on it in any way. This wouldn’t have been possible without your support and help.
Thanks to all that bought a Calcutta ball, purchased a grid square, helped with the food, bought
raffle tickets and any other way that you helped. Congratulations to the winners. The Calcutta
winners of $25.00 were Jim Peet, Wayne Alberts, Bob Thibault, Dodie and Philip, Aerie #4218,
Eric Desranleau, Cheryl Papazoni, Walt & Ellie Bidwell, Ladies Auxiliary and Randy Little. The
$50.00 winners were Debbie West, Wade Costello, Deb Corey, and Kim & Pat Sargent. The
auction ball worth $500.00 and the last 4 balls of $50.00@ totaling $700.00 was divided into 5
equal payments of $140.00@. The winners were Bob Gordon, Cheryl and Karen, Chad Phillips,
Ladies Auxiliary and Stephanie Leclair. The Calcutta grid winners were: 1 st quarter--Ken Mayo-
$50.00, 2 nd quarter--Frank Howrigan-$100.00, 3 rd quarter-Larry West-$150.00, and 4 th quarter-
Chris Leclair-$200.00. The $5.00 grid winners were:1 st quarter--Bob Gordon-$75.00, 2 nd
quarter-Karen Hall--$100.00, 3 rd quarter-Frank Lee--$125.00, and 4 th quarter-Steve O’Dell--
$150.00. The $2.00 grid winners were: 1 st quarter-Jen & Cheryl--$25.00, 2 nd quarter-Cheryl
Papazoni--$30.00, 3 rd quarter-Jan Valley--$50.00 and 4 th quarter-Mark P.--$75.00. The second
$2.00 grid winners were: 1 st quarter-Bob Peet--$25.00, 2 nd quarter-Derek Demers--$30.00, 3 rd
quarter-Phil Bissonnette--$50.00, and 4 th quarter-Jim Peet--$75.00. Again, congratulations to all
and thanks for your loyal support.
The Valentine’s Dinner/Dance was successful as well. Thanks to Carol Howrigan and her crew
for putting this event together. We’re hoping to do it again next year and would like to see it
grow into one of our yearly fund raisers.
Is everyone having good luck getting your newsletter on line? If you are having any problems
with this, please let someone know in the office. We, also, have paper copies on the table on your
right as you enter the club. We certainly understand that there are some people that don’t have
access to a computer.
Now on to spring and mud and other events at your club. The Anniversary Banquet will be
coming up on April 30 th . We will, also, be hosting The Vermont State Convention this year on
June 10, 11, and 12 th . Everyone is welcome to come and we hope to have a good representation.
One of our Aerie members, Gary Estus, will be installed as State President on Sunday morning.
This will be a very proud moment for the Arrowhead Club #4218. The registration fee is $40.00
and this will cover all meals and the Banquet. If you prefer coming just to the banquet, the fee
will be $30.00 and any individual meals will be $6.00. There will be much more information
about this in the coming months.
Don’t forget about the Bingos every Wednesday and Saturday nights at 6:30 p.m. Come and join
us and always bring a friend.
Fraternally,
Message from the Secretary’s Desk : Dues reminders will be mailed out
during the month of March. You notice an option to include extra money, which will be
donated to the Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa. The Grand Aerie
announced two years ago that they will donate 5 million dollars a year to this cause over
a period of five years for a total of 25 million dollars. The FOE has asked each member to
donate $5.00 per year toward this fund, however it is not a mandatory part of the dues
you owe for the upcoming year. Thank you in advance for your donation.
