TL5 TEST LOAD
TL5 TEST LOAD for fuel cells and batteries is a passive electronic load with built-in
microprocessor intelligence, with the ability to briefly interrupt the current and take
resistance free cell potential readings with programmable delay. There are additional inputs
for a reference electrode and for a temperature sensor. An expansion I/0 connector provides
a further eight digital inputs, eight digital outputs and two analog inputs. A microprocessor
controls the time keeping and data acquisition functions, and the measured values are
displayed on a 80-character LCD display. Current ranges of 0 - 2.000 A and 0 - 20.00 A
(or 0 - 4.000 A and 0 - 40.000 A) are operator selectable; voltage (potential) up to 20.00 V
is autoranging.

The TL5 Test Load has the capability to operate
under manual or remote control, and to
communicate with a computer over a serial
RS-485 link. Optional TLIF interface module
and TESTMASTER software, sold separately,
allows for connection, control and acquisition
of data from up to 16 TL5 loads in a daisy
chain configuration per available RS-485 port.

The latest AFC Power Generators are built on
the POWERSTACK MC250 and demonstrate

Model E8 Portable Generator suitable for a wide
variety of portable and stationary applications
and the 1.8 kW Model E7 which is designed
as a direct replacement for lead-acid, traction
batteries in golf cars, forklifts, etc.
TEST EQUIPMENT
Designed and built for use in the Astris laboratories,
the test equipment portfolio includes a variety of
products that are required in fuel cell and battery
development and testing. The QUICKCELL QC200
is used for quickly mounting and testing electrode
coupons. The TL5 Intelligent Test Load
performs a number of tests and monitoring
functions and can be used on its own or in
combination with the TESTMASTER Control
and Data Acquisition Software Suite.
