Dear Franchise Colleagues:
In a time of economic turbulence and business uncertainty, there is one event that you
cannot afford to miss – IFA’s 49th Annual Convention, February 14-17, 2009, at the
Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, CA.
This year’s Convention Committee worked strategically to develop programming focused
on the current realities you and every other franchise system are facing today. Our
educational sessions have been elevated to a new level with content and speakers who
can make a positive difference for your business. What remains the same are the
unparalleled opportunities the IFA Convention offers you to network with your peers,
experienced franchise executives. In addition to educational sessions, our exhibitors offer
state-of-the-art products and services to assist you in operating your system efficiently,
economically and effectively. As you review this brochure, I am confident you will agree
that this year’s convention provides the tools and the framework for meaningful
take-home value.
With power-packed programming, energizing roundtables and the best networking
anywhere, you cannot afford to miss the most valuable franchise program of the year.
The 49th Annual
IFA Convention in
San Diego, CA.
The only place to be
this February!
About San Diego
San Diego is renowned for its beautiful climate, pristine beaches, and wide-array of attractions. Bordered by Mexico,
the Pacific Ocean, the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Laguna Mountains, San Diego County’s 4,200 square miles offer a
multitude of recreational options.
San Diego is home to such world-famous attractions as SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo. In addition, Old Town San
Diego, the site of the first Spanish settlement in the state of California, and Coronado Island, home to the United States
Navy and the largest white sand beaches in San Diego County, are both worth a visit. Just 20 minutes north of downtown
San Diego is the small coastal town of La Jolla. Spanish for “The Jewel”, La Jolla features upscale boutiques, restaurants,
beaches and parks. For entertainment closer to the city center, the Gaslamp District offers some of San Diego’s top dining,
shopping and nightlife.
The region has more than 70 miles of coastline to explore, offering the best that aquatic life has to offer, including surfing,
boating, sailing and swimming. San Diego’s terrain varies from gentle foothills to mile-high mountains, offering the nature
enthusiast plenty of opportunities to hike, camp, fish and observe wildlife. San Diego’s arts and culture are booming.
Balboa Park, the largest urban cultural park in the United States, features 15 museums, numerous art galleries, beautiful
gardens, and the Tony Award winning The Globe Theatres. A fun and unique way to explore the area is by catching a
street trolley. It provides access throughout downtown San Diego, into East County, all the way down to Tijuana, Mexico.
The cost is just $2.50 to the U.S. border.
