From easy guided walks to more challenging summit trips in beautiful 

scenery. You will need good shoes and warm waterproof clothes. 

We can offer both daytrips or overnight stays. 

Mount Napen is situated between Stranddalen and Sandsa mountain 

cabins in Ryfylke. At this point you have the sensation of being 

on the roof of Rogaland. The view is breathtaking in all directions. 

Visiting Napen is easy if you already are hiking to Stranddalen and 

Sandsa mountain cabins, but you can also make a day trip out of it. 

Marked trail, map. 

This impressive mountain dwarfs even Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), 

offering a unique and unforgettable view of Lysebotn village and the 

Lysefjord. The marked trail starts at Øygardstøl on the Lysevegen 

road, closed in winter. 5-6 hours walking, some steep climbing. You 

need to be reasonably fit. Sturdy shoes, warm clothes, waterproofs. 

Free access to the mountain. The Kjeragbolten chockstone is also 

exciting. You can also combine the walk with a return trip on the 

tourist ferry on the Lysefjord.

Fjord Cruise to the Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), hiking 

tours to Pulpit Rock and Mount Kjerag 

April – October Bynuten (671 metres above sea level) is situated in the outskirts, east 

in Sandnes. From the top the view is magnificent in every direction. 

On the top of Bynuten there is a beautifully constructed beacon. 

There is also good facilities for climbing in the area. 

The path is 9 km. 

April – October These heath moorlands lying in the municipalities of Hå and Time 

are representative of the landscape of Jæren’s traditional grazing 

landscape and are therefore significant in a national cultural historical 

way. 

Steinkjerringa – the stone Wife or Mother Norway as it was originally 

called, is a sculpture in a scenic conservation area. “Mother 

Norway” was hewn in 1898-99 by Sigurd Soerendsen and in 1927 it 

was erected in position at Anikdalshea.

Holmavatn – Synesvarden - Steinkjerringe – Holmavatn: 8 km 

April – October The sandy beaches and beach areas are superb for walks for all 

seasons. In total there are approx. 70 km with beaches. Most of them 

are sandy beaches but there are also pebbled beaches. The crashing 

sea rushing onto land and the spray of the waves reaching for the sky 

as it meets rocs on stormy days. 

Start at the sandy Sola beach and dunes. Walk southwards along the 

beaches of Raegestranden, Oelbergstranden , Vigdel, Hellestø to 

Sele and Bore. 

Approx. 12 km one way.

guided hikes with experienced local mountain guides.

We will pick you up at the hotel and, after a 15-min. drive, you will 

be standing at the foot of Mount Jendem. The hike to the top takes 

about an hour on a good path and includes spectacular views, not to 

mention what awaits you at the summit (633 metres). You can see 

large parts of Hustadvika - one of the most dangerous stretches of sea 

in Norway. After a well-deserved snack and something to drink, you 

spend an hour or so on the descent and the bus back to Molde. 

Bus from Åndalsnes to Vengedalen every day at 9.30, walk along 

the Romsdalseggen ridge back to Åndalsnes. Romsdalseggen has 

three different tracks - one easy, one normal and one extreme - duration 

5 - 7 hours. This is a unique mountain hike in the spectacular 

Romsdalen valley 

After a short sightseeing in Molde we arrive at Skaret. We make a 

stroll around lake Skarvatnet, (45 min) , before we are served coffee 

and the local speciality ”svele”. There are possibilities for lunch for 

those who prefer that. Skaret Tourist Centre also include Lysgården 

candle factory and Klokkargården handcraft shop. As we head back 

to Molde we will see the beautiful Molde panorama on the way down 

to the town.
