G-Resources Upgrades Martabe Gold and Silver Ore Reserves with
Inclusion of the Ramba Joring Deposit
Significant increase in Martabe ore Reserves due to the addition of an initial
Reserve for the Ramba Joring deposit.
Total gold Reserves up 11.6% to 3.03 million ounces and silver up 2.5% to 33.63
million ounces.
Further increases in Resources and Reserves expected.
(Hong Kong, 11 May 2011) G-Resources Group Limited (“G-Resources” or the “Company”)
(HKEx: 1051) released today an updated Ore Reserve Statement for its Martabe gold and silver
project in North Sumatra, Indonesia. An initial reserve has been estimated for the Ramba Joring
deposit.
The Company’s Martabe Ore Reserves are now estimated to contain 3.03 million ounces of gold
and 33.63 million ounces of silver, contained within the Purnama/Pit 1, Barani and Ramba Joring
deposits (See Figure 1 for the location of the Martabe project site). The new statement shows an
increase in G-Resources’ Group Ore Reserves with gold up by 315,000 ounces (11.6% increase),
and silver up by 810,000 ounces (2.5% increase).
The Martabe mineral district contains six gold and silver deposits identified so far -
Purnama/Pit1, Barani, Ramba Joring, Uluala Hulu, Tor Uluala and Horas - all within a seven
kilometer long corridor of mineralisation. This corridor sits within a 1639 sq km tenement of
further outstanding regional prospectivity.
Four of the deposits have calculated (JORC code) Resources totaling 138.6Mt at 1.5g/t gold and
15g/t silver, containing 6.49Moz gold and 66.2Moz silver. Three of these deposits (Purnama/Pit
1, Barani and now Ramba Joring) have calculated (JORC code) Reserves totaling 45.5Mt at
2.1g/t gold and 23g/t silver, containing 3Moz gold and 33Moz silver. The largest deposit to date
is Purnama/Pit 1 where initial mining will begin in August to build a stockpile of ore in readiness
for processing to gold bullion.
Further infill and extension drilling is taking place in and around the existing orebodies, and
further upgrades to Resources and Reserves will be continuously released as they become
available. Five diamond drill rigs are deployed at this stage for a planned 40,000 metre drilling
programme this year.
The current Reserves at the planned mining rate provide an initial mine plan beyond 10 years.
With this strong Reserves and Resources base G-Resources is already looking at possible
expansions of capacity and mine plan extensions.
Commenting on the new Reserve Statement, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Peter Albert said:
“We are very pleased to announce the upgrade of the Martabe Ore reserves with the addition of
Page 2 of 3
Ramba Joring Ore reserves, not previously included in our estimates. This is a very significant
statement for G-Resources and all of our stakeholders as it demonstrates the clear potential for
further deposits, for expansions of production capacity and for mine life extensions in this
remarkable Martabe gold district.”
Mr. Owen Hegarty, Vice Chairman commented:
“Peter and the team at Martabe have yet again demonstrated that they can deliver excellent
results. This Martabe Ore Reserve upgrade provides further support for our belief that Martabe is
a world class mineral district which we expect to keep getting bigger and better.”
