Before we started planning Gateway Gardens we asked ourselves:
What makes us humans do what we do? What do we like? What gets us ahead?

Our home is the
Our planet has become very contained, at the very latest since the World Wide
Web went public. At breakfast we study the day’s newest from the Far East,
and evenings we check the closing figures on the Dow Jones – just in case we
don’t happen to be in Hong Kong or New York at the time. Today there are
hardly any more limits to business and commerce, and whatever is happening
in the world has something to do with us.
Airport cities are the focal points of the future, because what ports and later on
train stations used to be represents what airports are today: where the threads
converge to link up the world. Gateway Gardens is in the making here.
We need impulses to
Nowadays business is above all “people's business”. And in spite of all the
broadband communication in real time, it’s the personal encounters that create
new ideas. And set impulses. That get us ahead and, by doing so, our business,
too.
At Gateway Gardens you can cultivate professional as well as private contacts,
because there are bars, cafés, restaurants, shops, leisure-time offers and
exhibits here for the choosing – a place full of life, even when the working day
is done.
Approaching people.
We admire the beautiful.
Beauty stands the test of time. It reminds us what we are capable of. Spurs us
on and makes us proud of ourselves.
That’s why the architecture of Gateway Gardens is going to make its mark. On
Frankfurt, on the airport city – and on your company, too.
Approaching architecture.
We want to be
We want to be the ones who decide what we do. And about where we’re going
to be tomorrow, and how we’re going to get there. That makes it good to know
that all paths are open for one to choose from.
Like they are in Frankfurt Airport City: check-in, ICE express railway station and
“Autobahn” motorway. It’s all there, nearby and very easy.
Indoors we want to
We like things green. We prefer the sight of trees, flowers and meadows to
landscapes made of concrete. Apart from the fact of the leisure-time value
involved.
Gateway Gardens lies in the midst of nature. That may sound crazy when an
airport, an ICE express railway station and the “Autobahn” motorway are just
minutes away. For example, who would suspect a city park and the largest
confluent forest region in Germany here? But it’s true.
Approaching the future.
Airport cities, a new type of city.
Impulses arise wherever people from all over the world come together. Cultural,
political and commercial. Airport cities are the focal points of the future, with
roots in the region and globally oriented at the same time.
As a result, Gateway Gardens in the new Frankfurt Airport City has been
designed for more than business as usual. Namely for short routes, for worldwide
networking, for an international spirit. And that’s why Gateway Gardens
is the top-flight address in Central Europe for top-flight companies from all over
the world.
Approaching people.
Gateway Gardens, Europe and you.
If you are interested in Gateway Gardens, then it’s probably due to one of two
motivating factors. Gateway Gardens is the perfect solution to both.
Either you are a German-language enterprise and need a base in order to tap
into and develop Europe or the whole world from here:
· Within Gateway Gardens itself, you are already located on global terrain. The
business climate here is international. The reason why is that it’s more likely
that your neighbour comes from the next continent than the immediate vicinity.
· From Gateway Gardens you are at the terminal of your choice in a few minutes.
And from there, just about anywhere in the shortest of time spans.
· With 70,000 employees at 500 companies and over 50 million passengers
each year, the Frankfurt Airport City is potentially an interesting market for you.
Or you come from Africa, the Americas, Asia or Australia, and you are looking
for a central location in Germany or Europe:
· Within a 200-kilometre radius you reach 42 per cent of the world’s third-largest
national economy: 35 million people.
· The level of education in Germany is as high as its productivity, the infrastructure
a world leader, the tax burden competitive.
· Take a compass and pinpoint radii around the centre of Europe on a map.
You’re going to place the point of the compass almost exactly here. Within
three hour’s flight time – at the most – you can reach everything between
Athens, Helsinki, Lisbon and Moscow.
· At Gateway Gardens you are not alone in a foreign country. An international
working atmosphere prevails here that can help you to unravel special regional
or cultural characteristics.
Approaching business.
Frankfurt/Rhine-Main
Yes, that’s right, Goethe’s birthplace was Frankfurt. Perhaps his cosmopolitan
spirit really did rub off on the city. Yet it might also be because of the airport,
one of the world’s largest, that Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region form the
country’s most international city.
· One in four residents of Frankfurt comes from somewhere else in the world.
Many are here to do business.
· Frankfurt is the seat of the European Central Bank and the key financial centre
in continental Europe.
· That fact is enhanced by numerous leading international companies. For
American and Korean firms, the state of Hessen is No. 1 in Germany.
· Frankfurt has worldwide significance as a trade-fair city. Each year over 50
expositions take place on the world’s third-largest trade-fair grounds.
Whether it’s the multicultural spirit felt everywhere that makes Frankfurt the
most prosperous region in Central Europe, or vice versa, remains an open
question. But the fact is:
· The Rhine-Main region has the highest purchasing power in Germany.
· Frankfurt ranks 7th-highest worldwide in the quality of life (study by Mercer
Human Resource Consulting, 2007). There are 922 jobs for every 1,000
residents.
· A population of 5.4 million lives in the compact Rhine-Main region with its
well-developed infrastructure.
· The local recreation areas Rheingau, Taunus, Odenwald and Spessart lie
directly on the city’s outskirts.
· Tasteful edification or rustic diversion? Thanks to the many theatres, museums,
and castles, apple-wine locales and gourmet restaurants, anything goes.
· As one of few cities in Europe, “Mainhattan” has a real skyline. That contributes
to the “felt size” of the city, too.
Approaching mobility.
Four directions, a hundred advantages.
Gateway Gardens is a dream come true for companies active internationally.
Located directly at the airport, with short routes to frankfurt city centre, an ICE
express rail connection and motorways heading in all four directions. If a
significant need for travel into the stratosphere existed, one would definitely be
able to climb aboard a Space Shuttle here. As presently that’s not the case,
however, for the time being there is a Shuttle Service to Terminal 1 (4 min. 30
sec.) and to Terminal 2 (2 min.).
By car you directly access the A 3, A 5 or B 43 motorways. The regional S-
Bahn rapid transit line takes you to the ICE express railway station in 2 minutes,
or optionally into the city centre in 15 minutes. And there’s a regional bus
network as well.
Transportation link
· Directly located at one of the ten
largest airports worldwide
· 307 destinations in 109 countries
· 4,400 direct flights weekly
· Own access ramps to the A 3
(east-west) and A 5 (north-south)
motorways
· ICE express railway station with
163 connections
· Regional link via own S-Bahn
station, “Gateway Gardens”,
and bus lines
Approaching nature.
Design works – Green works wonders.
Good design appeals to both halves of the brain: the functional-pragmatic half
and the emotional-creative half. That’s why world-renowned architects such as
Christoph Mäckler and Jo Franzke are doing their planning here. That’s why a
master plan exists for Gateway Gardens that envisages generously spaced
open areas instead of maximum development. Gateway Gardens sets itself
agreeably apart from other business real estate: alongside the infrastructure
and architectural quality, above all by being able to experience nature everywhere.
The entire area is shielded from traffic by green spaces, the streets have been
laid out as tree-lined avenues. With the park between them, the two plazas
form an urban development axis. The result: a coherent urban quarter full of
life. Does that mean we still have to mention the regional park route that leads
straight through Gateway Gardens and sends joggers, hikers and cyclists alike
to the loveliest spots in the region?
