9 Due to its widespread geographic distribution, redbait has been reported as bycatch in<br />

23 target fisheries over the last five fishing years. For the fishing years 2002/03 –<br />

2006/07 total EEZ reported catch of redbait was 16,742 tonnes, most of which was<br />

taken by the method of mid-water trawl. The following table summarises the total<br />

catch distribution by FMA <strong>for</strong> the fishing years 2002/03 – 2006/07.<br />
