23 Although many target fisheries report rattails as bycatch, the hoki target fishery<br />
dominates the estimated catch of rattails with over 70% of all reported estimated<br />
catch. Other fisheries catching reasonable quantities of rattails include scampi, orange<br />
roughy, squid <strong>and</strong> red cod. There does not appear to be any targeted fishing <strong>for</strong> rattail<br />
<strong>species</strong>.<br />
Recreational fishery characteristics<br />
